Question about Air Tools & Compressors
You didn\'t say what is wrong with your Earlex spraygun; does it spray at all? If it is not working it is probably because some of the passage-ways are blocked with dry paint, or air is leaking in, or both, so you need to clean it out thoroughly. Best would be to soak it in gunflush which you can buy from most motor factors that sell paint; cover up the container to avoid the gunflush from evapourating and do this in a well ventillated area; no naked flames or sparks. When it is clean you may need to replace the needle packings which are around the needle where it enters the front of the gun, but try oiling them first; leave the oil on the needle over night to allow it to soak into the packings. You may be able to download a manual from the web.

Well if it powers on, and has air flow through the hose, and probably what is a turbine, then the only thing that should be able to be the problem is the gun itself. Pull the trigger, blow through it to see if it is clogged. If it is clogged then cleaning is the problem. Take it apart and clean each part in the correct solvent or cleaning solution. If its plastic, which that one is, then you probably don't want to soak it in lacquer thinner. If it is unclogged, try the adjustments although there are not a whole lot of them on that unit I do not think.

You need to consider what materials you will be spraying. Wet table powders and sprays with relatively high solids contents will work better with a diaphragm pump than a roller pump. For tanks, plastic should be fine unless you are spraying materials which will react with the plastic. If you are concerned about it getting banged around, consider welding a roll cage or some bumpers around the tank. With 2 acres to spray, the sprayer will not be getting heavy use, so you won't need super heavy duty equipment.
