When I try to Hot Sync everything starts out fine. Half way through the process, my hand held screen reads "synchronizing tasks" and my computer screen reads "Installing handheld applications". To me it seems as if my palm freezes everytime I try to sync. Initially, I did not have this problem. How long does it usually take to sync? My palm has been connected to my PC for over 20 minutes and the same messages are displayed. I have tried to delete several programs thinking that it might be a memory problem, but that didn't help.
Something similar happened to me due to incorrect periodic entries in the Datebook, try disabling all elements in the Hot Sync, try it, and if it works, then add them one by one until you find the offending one, then focus on clearing that DB. (Actually i simply stopped synching Datebook since i didn't wanted to loose all the history of appointments i have).

If you have an iPhone or Android phone, you can sync your
Facebook contacts to your phone. Otherwise, if another mobile phone, the
synchronization feature of Facebook contacts may not be available. Android and
iPhone smartphone users have it easy. With a few taps, you can configure the
synchronization feature; the Facebook application handles the import and
exports your contacts from that point forward.

Android

1. Put on your Android phone, and go to the home screen.

2. Touch the "Facebook" icon and press the
"Menu" button on your phone. Touch the "Settings" from the
pop-up.

3. Scroll down to the bottom, and tap the "Sync
Contacts" option.

4. Choose what to synchronize. Your options include
"Sync All" or "Sync existing contacts." The last option is
just to sync contacts from Facebook with people aligned with your
"Contacts" app exists. If the person is not there, it will not sync.
I want all your Facebook contacts to your phone to get, then you choose
"Sync All".

5. Touch the "OK". Facebook will start regardless
sync contacts in the background when the application is running or not. Every
time your contacts are updated, it will also synchronize the data.

iPhone

1. Turning your smartphone iPhone, and go to the home
screen.

2. Touch the "Facebook" icon to start the app, and
then the "Friends" icon in the app yourself.

3. Tap the arrow at the top right and select "Sync
Contacts".

4. Move the slider to "Synchronize" to
"ON" position.

5. Tap the "Sync Contacts" button after reading
the disclosure law. The synchronization process should begin immediately, as
well as your Facebook friends and downloads their photos to your profile
"Contacts" app.
Try right click on the Hot-Sync icon, on the Taskbar and select Custom then select Address book and change the Action to Synchronise the files. You might have to use Windows Explorer to view your contact. I'm not 100% sure about this one but try it anyway.
I had the same problem. Obtained no help from Garmin - $200 to repair.
I purchased a $7.00 IRDA (infra red) - USB device; set my Connection to IR - PC and have been able to sync without any problems. However even withupdates I have not been able to get the cradle - PC connection to work. This is not a problem however since I now use the IR connection all the time.
You must touch the screen hot sync logo not the cradle button to start the sync process.
it is possible but
if I well understood u wanna hot sync with ur laptop calendar and contact from ur Tungsten E, (that is having updated data from ur office computer).
you can in fact synchronize verything there with ur laptop, and make ur hand held over write ur whatever is in ur laptop, for this u need to install the PDS and go to the hotsync manager on ur system try, go to custom and and on the list of conduits go to contact and change the action to hh overwrite desktop, (do the same for calendar) DON"T FORGET TO CHECK THE OPTION : MAKE AS DEFAULT. U can of course disable the rest except the system conduit.
Never forget to set the conduits u change to set as defaults.
Like this, u must have always updated data on ur hand-held, for this, u need to keep synchronizing with ur office computer.
