5B00/5B01:
A service error has occurred.

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Disconnect the power cable.
  3. Open the printer cover.
  4. Check for any orange protective tape or white polystyrene and remove if necessary.
  5. Check that there are no foreign objects in the printer (such as a paper clip) and remove if necessary.
  6. Close the cover.
  7. Reconnect and turn on.
If this solutions does not work, a repair is needed.

It could be that the ink absorbers are full. You may be able to do a reset, here are instructions and a link for the canon reset software. Please let us know how you get on.

Canon MX330 Error 5800 or 5B00, what is it?
Error 5B00 refers to the ink absorbers being full. This is not a job for a home user and you would be best taking the machine to a repairer for new absorbers to be fitted. If you dont then ink will start to flow out of the printer onto the table!!
