Make sure when you connect the psp have it in usb mode.....or.....your usb port is not 2.0. if this is the problem, just connect your usb cable to the back of your computer and the other end to your psp

How would l charge my psp 1001 using my usb. thanks

PSP automatically charge itself when you connect the USB cable from the PSP to your computers USB port you should see the power light change from green to orange that is a sign of a charging state and if that did not happen connect the PSP on a different USB port on your computer because sometimes some USB port supplies less amount of power.

How do i set up my psp to my pc i have no manual

First, you need a Micro-USB to USB cord (plug the Micro-USB end into the PSP, and the USB end into the PC's USB port). If you don't have one, you can get it from Ebay or Amazon, just search 'PSP Transfer Cord' or something like that. After you've plugged it in, put your PSP in 'USB Mode' and then your computer should say 'Found New Device' and then 'Installing New Hardware' overtop of an icon in the tray. After it's installed successfully, go to my computer, and click the letter of whatever port you plugged it into (i.e., 'Drive F'). You should see some folders saying 'MUSIC', 'PICTURES', 'VIDEO', etc.

***NOTE: If your computer doesn't do anything when you plug your PSP in USB Mode into it, try using another USB port, or try going to My Computer to see if it's already there.

Psp 300 doesn,t show the usb mode when connected to PC.It keeps showing Please wait .No problem with usb cable, port.

Hi rimoricky, Based onyour concern, I suggest trying the following steps: 1. Before you plug it in make sure the PSPis in USB connect mode. -->Also make sure the Memory Stick PRO Duo has been formatted for PSP. If it's notthis is how you do it: On themain menu, scroll all the way left to the "Settings" menu. Thenselect "System Settings." Then scroll to "Format MemoryStick" and press X. 2. Connect the PSP to your PC with a USBcable. 3. Press the "home" button on thePSP --> atthe lower left of the screen you can see the home button. 4. Use the left-right directional buttons tofind "Settings", then the up-down buttons to find "USBConnection" on the PSP. 5. Press the "X" button, your PSPshould display "USB Connection". 6. Please wait until your computer tells youthat a new USB device has been connected, then show you a new generic harddrive, usually E: or F: 7. Click on the drive letter thatcorresponds to the PSP unit. Hope ithelps, Thank youfor using FixYa.

I cant connect my psp to my pc

try using another cord(either buy a new one or borrow someones) to connect your psp to your pc and also try plugging in something else to the computer with the same hookups to make sure its not your computer ports. if niether of those suggestions work, you might have a problem with the ports on your psp being shot, which is a problem with alot of electronics. also make sure that the ports arent plugged or gummed up with anything and look if there is any wear on the contacts of the wire and the ports.

Psp is not reconised by usb port

Do you have it in USB mode? It's in the settings menu. If not, your cable may be faulty. But probably not.

Chargind psp

If it’s the 2000 series (PSP Slim), then yes. Connect your PSP system to an available USB port on your computer. Turn on your PSP, then under “Settings“, select “USB Connection”. Your PSP should connect to your computer and start charging. It may take awhile, but it will charge it all the way. Hold the display button (The button with the rectangular shape at the bottom of your PSP) until the screen goes black. This will speed up the charging process and is a good method of prolonging battery life when listening to music or other things.

If that doesn’t work, try looking for an adapter lying around your house that matches the volt numbers. The PSP takes 5V. Most portable CD players use 5V adapters and are usually the same size as needed for the PSP. I suggest using an adapter that matches the volt number and fits without trouble. If the orange light doesn’t come on or the PSP acts weird after charging, I’d stop using the adapter. Ask me any questions if you have any. ;)

PSP

as long as you have connected the usb lead and tried in different ports, make sure you are selecting USB Connection in the settings menu on the psp, it should then connect, but some older pc's may not have enough voltage sent to the usb ports to read the psp, if this is so you will need to buy a powered usb hub.
