SOURCE: Canon pixma MP600, error code 5010, what does it mean

There are a few things you can try:

  1. Power reset; press and hold the Power button until it the machine starts a diagnostic mode; if this doesn't turn on the machine, unplug it for 10 minutes and upon plugging it back in, see if the error reset itself
  2. Unplug all USB devices (including the printer) and reboot the computer. Once the computer has rebooted, plug in the printer, allow it to install (it should install automatically) and see if the error is corrected. Sometimes there can be a temporary conflict and the only way to solve it is to remove all other USB devices (this can work for external hard drives too).
The overall issue with error code#5010 is a scanner malfuntion. If the problem returns, check the ribbon cable as it runs from your scanner to the main logic board. If all is secure and you still have the problem, the printer may need a new logic board.

Try keeping the paper only in the bottom tray (there's a tray in the bottom) Try pulling any paper out of the top and just close that top tray. Open up the head so that u can see the ink cartridges and turn the printer on and off and maybe it will center itself again. If it's still not working (even if lights aren't red and print head wont align in the center) try manually moving the head back and forth like 18 times so you can lubricate that rail in the back that's holding it. After that, re-turn it off and on again.

Canon Printer Pixma MP540 with error code B200 - what can I do? Thank you for your support. Arthur

Try to press down on the sponge to get it to work again. It may be a waste toner issue, which generally is repaired at an authorized service center for canon by contacting 1-800-OK CANON or logging on to canonusa.com.

Good luck on this.

MP600 power goes off after a few seconds. Printer won't print. Got B200 error code at one time.

Hi there
It may be the cartridge...try removing it and then reseating it. If that doesn't do it, clean the contacts with water or isopropyl alcohol.(power off when you do this)

If that not work then you need to change the ink

All the best Pineworks

Error B200

There is no specific solution for this error, but most problems related to Error code B200 is fixed after restarting the machine. Please follow the instructions below:
1. Turn off the machine (if power button is not working or seems hanged, unplug the power cord from the printer.)
2. Disconnect both the usb and power cord from the printer.
3. Delete the printer from the Control Panel of the computer. Start > Printers and Faxes > and delete the printer, right-click the printer's name and select delete.
4. Now reconnect the printer on the usb port and plug in the power cord. Power on the printer and reinstall the driver when asked.

If there's no mechanical problem, your problem will be definitely fixed. It could be related to the usb cable, so try with another cable and make sure there's no problem related to transmission/communication between printer and your computer.
If the problem persists, there's no other alternative, the only solution is from the Canon, you can use this link to contact canon. They will assist you what needs to be replaced and what are the steps to be taken before replacing any parts.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.
