My machine has been very good until 2days ago. Now when I put a disc in and push play it says "no disc". I have tried several different discs and the same thing happens.

Hi,
Please intimate exact model and brand of your dvd player that will help to locate problem cause.
There is optical lens in dvd player that reads discs that seems bad.
If you are comfortable with it then eject any disc in player, take off top cover, locate optical lens, hold it in fingers (avoid to touch lens on surface) and slide it other way, now turn power ON, press eject and check does lens comes back to its position (it calls reset) if lens does not come to its previous position then Sled Motor is bad and need to replace optical lens assembly.
Thanks.

Every disk that I try to watch on movies shows no disc error message it won't play the movies but it does play musical CDs

There are several possible reasons why your DVD player is not playing movies, but is playing CDs. Here are some steps you can take to try to fix the issue:
  1. Clean the disc: Sometimes, a dirty or scratched disc can cause the "no disc" error message. Try cleaning the disc with a soft, lint-free cloth, wiping from the center outwards. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasives.
  2. Clean the DVD player: A dirty lens or other components in the DVD player can also cause problems with reading discs. Try using a DVD lens cleaning kit to clean the lens, or open up the DVD player and carefully clean any visible dust or debris.
  3. Check the disc format: Make sure that the movies you are trying to play are in a format that is compatible with your DVD player. Some players may not support certain file types, such as Blu-ray discs or region-specific DVDs.
  4. Check the connections: Make sure that all cables and connections are securely plugged in and functioning properly. Try using a different cable or port if possible.
  5. Reset the DVD player: Some DVD players have a reset button or option in the settings menu. Try resetting the player to its default settings and see if that resolves the issue.
If none of these steps work, it's possible that there may be a hardware issue with your DVD player, such as a malfunctioning laser or drive motor. In that case, it may be necessary to take the player to a repair shop or consider purchasing a new one.

Why does the disc reader say "no disc" after I put one in? It played earlier

Not all disc are equal.

Try a different disc. Some machines can be fussy about certain discs. Sometimes the disc itself can be kerfluewy, so try the disc in a different machine, too.

The machine keeps stating bad disc, for all dvds. We have the GoVideo DVD VCR combo... we tried playing several different dvds and the machine keeps coming up with "bad disc".

It could just be dirt on the lazer/lens. Try cleaning it with a good brand name lens cleaner for DVD/CD. If that doesn't do the trick there might be damage to the lens, or an electrical fault.

Code H02

Your DVD player is having an issue with the spindle motor (the thing that spins the DVD around). The following solution works for most people, and you should only have to do this once.

  1. Unplug the DVD player.
  2. Take the cover off.
  3. Place a disc on the spindle.
  4. Put a little pressure on the disc (so it doesn't slip) and spin it around a few times.
  5. Remove the disc, reassemble, and plug back in.
  6. Try to play a DVD.
  7. Report back if this solved your problem, or if more troubleshooting is needed.

SAMSUNG DVD R120 error EC:0207

I had exactly the same problem -- error message of "This disc can be neither played nor recorded. Please check the disk [EC:0207]" after the machine had been working fine for a year. I downloaded the latest firmware from the Samsung website, burned it to a CD-R disk (took three tries until the DVD Recorder recognized the disk -- worked when I used Rocio CD Creater software), then loaded the firmware updates to the DVD Recorder. On the Samsung website you can retrive the firmware update instructions as well. I had to perform the firmware upgrade several times until it successfully updated both the system firmware as well as the disk firmware. After successfully updating both, the Recorder now recognizes the DVD-R disks and I was able to resume recording. I have however, noted some choppiness with the playback of the newly recorded disks. Other than that, the firmware upgrade successfully resolved the problem.
