Step 1: Locate the Fn (Function) key on your keyboard. It may be on the bottom left side with dark blue letters. Locate the two "brightness" keys near the top of the keyboard. These will be in the "F" keys, possibly if F6 and F7. They should have little sun pictures or something similar to indicate brightness. Hold down the Fn key while pressing F7, or whichever "F" key your laptop uses to increase brightness. Tap F7 repeatedly until you reach the desired brightness. Fn must be held down as you continue to tap.

The blue keys serve as a secondary function for your volume control, monitor controls and pause play fast forward rewind (in media mode). In order to use the blue keys that are numbered from F1 to F12, you must depress and hold the Fn key that is located at the bottom left side of the keyboard. Here is a way to test it: Open up any file that plays sound for longer than 1 minute (60 seconds). While this file is playing, hold down the Fn key and simultaneously press F8 and listen to the volume get louder or Fn and F7 together and listen to the sound get lower. The picture of the crescent moon F1 will adjust the brightness of your screen. F2 will magnify your screen. F3 will take you to your email. F4 will take you to your internet home page. F6 will mute the volume. F7 will lower the volume. F8 will raise the volume. F9 will rewind your video playing. F10 will stop the video. F11 will pause or play the video. F12 will fast forward the video.
On most laptops, there are 2 blue-tinted pictures that may looks like light bulbs or suns located on 2 of the function keys (F1, F2, etc.) that stand for increase and decrease brightness. If you hold the "Fn" key, and start tapping the increase brightness key, the screen should turn brighter. Otherwise, you may be able to adjust screen brightness from Windows, by going to power options (control panel or right click the battery icon in the task bar) or by customizing your desktop (control panel or right click on the desktop).

3. Hold down the Fn key and tap the F8 key to increase the Presario's LCD screen brightness by one step. Keep pressing the F8 key until you reach the maximum brightness for your screen
Just go to power options in control panel and click change plan settings of you current plan and move the slider right to increase brightness.Please note the left slider is for when on battery while the right slider is for when connected to AC power. Finished.I hope it helps
