Hi,

Well lets see providing the freezer fan works remove the bottom of the feezer I am guessing this is a standard admiral frig with the evap in bottom and not across the back. These fridges have a glass tube defrost heater that gets moisture in them and burns out the heater and leaves broken glass that housed the heater in evap tray if it's heavily frosted thaw it out so you can find the leads to the heater to check it with a meter. Sometimes they will be so iced up the bottom freezer panel is hard to get out....or you can find the timer advance it in a defrost and clamp on an amp probe to the common and it should draw around 4-5 amps.

If it's defrosting fine, makes ice and the fresh food section is cold as normal then I would assume it's your 'defrost thermostat'.

Also check Compressor.

Just to add another possiblity, the thermostat itself maybe about shot. Thus running constantly and not cooling properly

Hope i helped you.

Thanks for using "Fixya".

Freezer not cooling properly. Temperature alarm went off. Turned off now.

Look inside freezer on the rear wall to look to see if there is frost buildup. If yes then unplug and manually defrost defrost for about 3 hours if you only open freezer or place hot water in a bucket and place inside freezer and close the door. Is your compressor kicking on? If not then check the contactor-relay and the capacitor. If that isn't the problem then it is probably your compressor. Which is quite expensive to replace.

Door open alarm sounds and door open indicator blinks, but refrigerator door and freezer drawer are closed. Alarm stops when you press Alarm Off pad, but door indicator continues to blink until it times...

The switch which detects whether the door is open may be malfunctioning or the control unit to which the switch is connected is faulty. If there is only one switch it may be the same switch which puts the light on as you open the door.Does the light come on when the door is open? If so the switch if there is only one, is probably ok but the control unit is faulty.Look around the edge of the door frame for switches and check they are not stuck or damaged. I hope I have been of help but please do not hesitate to ask if you have any further questions.

Freezer not working

If freezer is icing up, you might have a defrost problem. Frost free models have a heating element that is controlled by a timer to automatically defrost ice, defrost timer turns on defrost heating element every 12 hours to melt ice in freezer and allow good air flow.
You can test defrost element with an ohm meter(located inside freezer coils-will have two wires going to a plug connection), if OK replace defrost timer (located in various places depending on make and model

Noise at the top, constant

Are you saying you get the noise even when the refrigerator is not cooling? If you get the noise only when the refrigerator "runs", it is the fan as you suggest.
