Open the car door and locate the interior light push button switch usually located near, and where the hindges bolt to the body of the car.Remove the switch and then disconect the wires to the (be sure to tape the wire end leads so they do not short anything out when you push them back through the hole, reinstall the switch and you are finished THIS WILL PREVENT THE INTERIOR LIGHTS FROM COMMING ON WHEN YOU GET IN AND OUT OF THE CAR IN THE DARK.For daytime running lights locate the headlight fuse, snip the wires going to the back of fuse pannel make sure they are going to the particular fuse in question.Add a couple of feet of wire to cut off wires so you can extend them to where ever you want to install a togal switch ,Before connecting wires to a new togal switch you might want to install an inline fuse with the same amperage as the one you disabled in the fuse panel. You can either let the switch hang freely or fasten it somewhere permanently and handy. If you do not like the fuse panel idea you can go directly to the main power supply for the headlight switch.Snip that wire and tie into it in the same way which ever is easer for you to get at.Good luck and good hunting.

There is a base plate that is screwed to the wall. The face of the thermostat should come off from the base. Usually the batteries can be found back there. Some times a little tug will get it off the wall. Other models have small plastic release clasps that when pushed in will allow the unit to come off.
