Making a load noise like out of balance when spinning

We had this problem and it was serviced 3 times before the noise became acceptable. It still makes noise but it no longer sounds like someone inside of a big steel tub beating on the sides with a hammer.

The service people said that was exactly what the problem was. Apparently, they use a concrete block inside of the machine to keep the balance and over time, the concrete chips away throwing off the balance. It didn't make much sense to me at first, but when they hauled the machine out of my house, I noticed there was a sand-like material on the floor where the washer sat.

My washing machine door says that it is locked when the door is open how can I fix this?

Replace the door switch, but,..... if you order the switch, they may send the switch in a rather large and heavy (and somewhat expensive) box which also contains the lower counter balance for the front of the drum. The reason is that on some machines, the counter balance is shapped in such a way that on certain off balance loads, the counter balance is able to strike the door switch and break it. The new counter balance weight has been re-designed to prevent this from occuring.

How to balance a front load GE washer. I bought this from a friend. It does fine when it has nothing in it, but when I put a load in, it nearly jumps off the ground. I know now that there are some type of...

Hi,

I'm not aware of any "balance things that go in the back" as you put it. if by chance you are refering to the transportation/shipping bolts, they need to be removed when the unit is in use and only neccessary for moving the washer.

Try this first **UNPLUG the unit from the wall** before calling a tech.

# 1...make sure you use "HE" detergent in any front load washer, including this one.

You can pull off the bottom service panel (2 screws) on the front of the washer and look to see the shock absorber's or the concrete counter weights aren't broken. while you're at it, pull off the top and inspect the suspension springs are intact to the cabinet/chassis.

start there

good luck

Check with a company online called sundberg appliance parts, the counterbalance isn't hard to install and will definately be cheaper than new one.

HE4t kenmore washer rubber drum gasket not attatched.

Removed the top and Front reinstalled the counter balance. the rubber gasket has a 1" tear in it which I patched with a rubber tire patch for now. Two of the locking nuts for the leveling of the machine were loose it went out of level causing the machine to rock and probably caused the counter balance to loosen up. My daughters come in from collage and over load it on weekends which adds to the machines demise. All have been warned.
