If you have one screw left over, take it to Lowe's and have a knowledgeable associate (doen't have to be from hardware department) help you out. If you have no screws , take the whole tv and you may be surprised on how helpful can they be, get their name and call corporate to give compliments and you have earned a new friend for life. Good luck
Are you talking about the stand that the unit came with or a wall mount? If you are talking about the original stand the unit came with all you need to do is lay the TV down on a flat surface making sure that it does not damage the LCD display ( the display is very delicate and can break very easily). You can lay the TV on a bed, carpeting or something that will not cause damage to the screen. Remove the 4 screws from the rear side bottom of where the stand goes unless the screws come inside a plastic bag. Slide the stand into the bottom of the TV and replace the screws to secure it in place. Then stand your TV up, make your connections and enjoy!
I have a M420VT Vizio TV. I used (4) M6-1.0 x 16mm screws to attach the stand to the TV stand adapter. The screws I used to attach the adapter to the TV were (3) M4-0.7x12mm. It worked out perfectly!
Look on the back of the set around the edge. Remove one screw and see how it fits in the position for holding the stand. If good then take the screw to a hardware store or home center store and get all you need. It will most likely be metric. If the screw was short, then get the length you need. Replace the original screw.
There are six screws on the back of the set that remove the stand. Turn the set on its face on a soft surface (bed or carpet). At the base of the TV set (on the TV, not on the stand) you will see nine (9) screw heads. Remove the top three and the bottom three. Leave the middle three in place. The stand just lifts off.
Now, replace the six screws into the TV chassis so if you ever want to replace the stand you'll know where the screws are.
