Question about Electrolux EDW5505ESS Built-in Dishwasher
The panel seems to be dead and how to get in to it to check this. Can I remove it myself and buy a new part?

Good Morning Friend,
I understand that your Electrolux dishwasher, model# EDW5505ESS, will not start and the control panel seems to be dead. I suggest resetting your appliance, by either unplugging it or shutting the power off at your homes circuit breaker, for 20-30 minutes. Once power is restored, if the panel is still not lighting up, I suggest contacting your local authorized technician. I do not suggest trying to repair it yourself. There could be something other than the panel, which is causing the dishwasher to seem dead. The technicians will be able to diagnose your appliance and determine what is causing the panel to not light up. Hope this is helpful.

2 THINGS COME TO MINE EASY CHECKS , MAKE SURE THE DOOR IS CLOSING PROPERLY AND THE DOOR SWITCH IS MAKING UP WELL AND CHECK TO MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE 110VOLTS LEAVING THE BREAKER AND @ THE DISHWASHER CONNECTION IF IT HAS A RECEPTACLE ON THE DISHWASHER END TRY TO PLUG IN ANOTHER DEVICE SUCH AS A DRILL OR SAW OR OTHER APP, TO SEE IF IT WILL RUN THIS IS A BETTER CK THAN A METER BECAUSE IT PROVES IT IS PASSING CURRENT AS WELL AS VOLTAGE , METERS ARE NONE LOAD DEVICES AND CAN FOOL YOU

Remove the kickplate at the bottom of your dishwasher and see what error you are getting. Likely a leak error.Dishwasher likely has leaked into drip pan underneath. Unfortunately, you need to remove dishwasher and flip onto back and remove 3 phillips screws that hold drip pan in place. Install "leak kit" to correct leak problem with this model of dishwasher. Part number is 154769101

Good Morning friend, thanks for your post!
After researching the issue you are having with your Electrolux dishwasher it is possible that resetting your appliance may help. I would disconnect power from your dishwasher by unplugging it or flipping the household breaker for roughly ten minutes. If this does not resolve your issue I would recommend seeking assistance from a professional to properly diagnose and repair your dishwasher. -T
