If it's not powering up and you have checked the fuses, it needs to go to service. Bad transistors. Common problem. If this is not your problem, I saw 8 or 9 different types posted. If you can clarify it I can help there as well. Post a comment & we can dig further.Hope this helps

Although the information says 2-3HP pumps what is the actual power as it appears to say 2-hp on my 2013 hot tub

Not exactly sure what you are asking? If you want to know the true and exact HP of a pump / motor, then you will take the posted HP of the label, then multiply it by the Service Factor. HP x SF = Actual HP Another thing, lately pumps are not posting "Real" HP, they are now playing a game to confuse end users by posting "BHP", which is Bump Horsepower. My understanding as one explained to me, is the pump is connected to a meter, then at the moment it is energized, wherever the needle "pegs" at maximum, that is the BHP, then it will stabilize at a lower HP. So a pump could be labeled as a 4.0 BHP, when in reality, it might be a 3.2 HP. GOOD LUCK

Can't log in with password

You can boot from the install CD/DVD that came with the Mac, there's a reset password tool there. Or if it's a new Mac, from the Recovery partition via Command + R when you restart.

You can also reset a forgotten Mac password without a Mac OS X installer CD/DVD or recovery partiton. This is basically the be-all-end-all approach if nothing else works, because it's guaranteed to get you back into a Mac when the other options are not available, and it works for all versions of OS X. The steps may seem a little intimidating but it's easy if you follow them exactly:

Stage 1) Boot into Single User Mode and remove a setup file
  • Restart the Mac holding down the Command+S keys, this will take you into Single User Mode and it's Terminal interface
  • You'll need to check the filesystem first, type the following command exactly, followed by the enter key:
  • fsck -fy
  • Next, you must mount the root drive as writeable so that changes will save, type the following command exactly, followed by the enter key:
  • mount -uw /
  • Now, type the following command exactly, followed by the enter key:
  • rm /var/db/.applesetupdone
  • After removing the applesetupdone file, you need to reboot, type 'reboot' and hit enter.
Stage 2) Create a New User Account upon System Boot
The hard part is now over, no more command line. In this step we just create a new user account as if you just got a new Mac:
  • Upon reboot, you will be presented with the traditional "Welcome Wizard" startup screen just like when you first get a Mac
  • Follow the welcome wizard and create a new user account - making the account name different from the account whose password you want to recover, make this new user account is an Administrator
  • Continue on and boot into Mac OS X with this newly created user account
Stage 3) Reset the Forgot Password via System Preferences
Now you just need to reset the forgotten user account password using the Accounts control panel:
  • Once you are booted into Mac OS X, click on the Apple logo and then navigate down to "System Preferences"
  • Click on the "Accounts" icon in System Preferences
  • Click on the Lock icon in the lower left corner of the "Accounts" preference window and enter the newly created user credentials, this enables you to change other user accounts and reset other users passwords
  • On the left side user panel, select the user account containing the forgotten password
  • With the user of the forgotten password account selected, click on the "Reset Password" button
  • Enter a new password for that user, be sure to include a meaningful hint so you don't forget it again!
  • Close System Preferences and reboot the Mac
  • You can now login to the previously inaccessible user account using the newly reset password! All user files and settings are maintained as before the password was forgotten
Now you can delete the temporary account you created to reset the users password. This is probably wise for security purposes.

Thanks, John

Re post emachine t5062 will not start, can't go to website previously suggestes, because I can't get to desktop. keeps wanting me to sign in as other user even thou no other user exsists

Using a very critical timing on Windows Startup, usually within about 2-3 seconds after powering on the system, press the F8 function key until you successfully have the timing right that enables you to start the PC in Safe Mode...(the exact timing will typically be when the first text on the screen disappears and BEFORE the next screen appears, but each system is different by a tad).

Look for the option to start the PC with the last known good configuration settings....

That should fix the problem!

When I got my laptop and made a user, it asked for a password, but I forgot what my password was(could have been a typo). So I just made a different user with a password that I can remember. And now...

If you new user is an Administrator you can reset the original user password or delete the user. The exact method will depend on the operating system. Post your operating system and I will provide more details.

Skype Goes OutBy VERNE G. KOPYTOFF

Millions of Skype users were unable to make calls for several hours on Wednesday because of technical problems that the Internet telephone service is still trying to fix.

Some users were unable to log in. For others who were already logged in, the service simply crashed.

Skype said in a blog post that it started investigating the problem after noticing that the number of people on its service was unexpectedly falling. Fixing the problem may take several hours, the company said, adding that it may be longer before other features like group video calling are restored to normal.

The troubles come as Skype, which spun off from eBay last year, prepares for an initial public offering. Meanwhile, Tony Bates, Skype's new chief executive, is trying to find new ways to make money outside the company's main business of charging users to call from their computers to landline and mobile phones.

The failure does not exactly help Skype's sales pitch to consumers as an alternative to traditional phone carriers. Nor does it reassure businesses, which Skype is trying to court as customers as part of its expansion plans.

Usually, Skype's service is problem-free.

Skype said the downtime was being caused by "supernodes," which are computers that "act a bit like phone directories" and enable callers to connect with others. Many of those "supernodes" - of which there are normally a large number - were taken offline by a problem with some versions of Skype's software, the company said.

Engineers are working to create "new 'mega-supernodes' as fast as they can, which should gradually return things to normal," Skype said.

Later on Wednesday, Skype posted a message on Twitter saying that its service was gradually returning to normal, but that it would still take several hours for all users to be able to sign in again.

Skype has 124 million active monthly users, as of June 30. Of those, only 8.1 million pay anything.
Mr. Bates has described himself as a fan of Skype's infrastructure, which has handled as many as 25 million users simultaneously.

What types of error codes in windowsxp

Error Codes come in many formats. They are generated by your system and sometimes other software. They tell you vital information of the fault, usually in code, and usually spacific to the program or programs.

Most are easily identified by Techies and some average PC users, so write them down exactly if you see them and post them here. 99% of these can be quickly identified for a possible Fix.

Pioneer VSX-D409 - Remote Control Problem Hello. I'm from Brazil and I have a 12 years old Pioneer VSX-D409 Receiver. My problem is related to the page 16 and 17 of the Owner's Manual. I'm trying to do the steps to Set up the surround mode, changing some settings and the type of connection I use to delivers sound to receiver, using optical cables. Well... I just cannot enter this mode, the surround setting mode. At this moment I'm hearing the sound from a FM station on the speakers. But just this function works. Tuner, wiht FM station. The remote control works only to: - Turn on or off the receiver. - Change the volume level. - Set the loudness function (on or off). - Change the function of the receiver (to select Tuner, DVD, TV or other device in, but I don't gain access to change some specs like distance, speakers volume levels or type of connection of each device). And nothing more. The remote control has seven buttons on the top: DVD/LD, TV/SAT, VCR/DVR, CD, TUNER, CD-R/TAPE/MD and TV CONT. According to the source device you want to use, you just press the button and the receiver selects the IN connection (coaxial or optical or just the Tuner to listen FM stations) and reproduces the audio. Until last week, anytime I press this button, the source device was selected. But, of course, I didn't use all of them. Just two: TV SAT and DVD. Why? This receiver has two optical IN units on its backside. I have two optical cables connected in the receiver. Optical 1 is connected to a PS3 and Optical 2 is connected to a SmarTV. Before my hollyday's trip, all the connections were allright. But not today!! The problem is: I do not have access to the process to change the type of connection that is assigned to the device I've choosen. I want to do this: TV/SAT --> OPT1 (to the audio from PS3); DVD --> OPT2 (to the audio from Smartv); The process is described at the page 16 to 21 of the owner's manual. But, it doesn't starts. Seems my remote control just forgeted how to do this or is blocked in another function. I don't know how to fix it and need some tip or help. Thank You! :)
