Electrolux/Simpson EZI sensor 5.5 kg machine cycles.

Well I'm an idiot. They did say there was a fast wash, but it specified that it was for extra rinses to help people with detergent allergy etc., but did not give a time for the cycle. They should have said it was the short wash for everyone. I tried it, and it was fine. Thanks anyway. If I ever have a real problem, I'll be back.

Bad taste in coffee

Run a pot of 1/2 white vinegar and 1/2 water through a cycle. Then run 2 cycles of plain water. Wash pot and basket in the dishwasher.

Solution for "how do you determine if the pump is working versus the water valve needing replaced"

Make sure the water is turned on to the machine.
Set the machine to start the cycle. Put a volt meter on the water valve terminals. At the fill portion of the cycle you will read 120 volts at these terminals. If you read 120 volts and no fill, the water valve is bad. If you do not read 120 volts, the timer is bad.
Fill the tub with water using a pot. Set the machine at the pump out cycle. If it pumps out, the pump is good.
If it does not pump out it could be a bad pump or bad timer.

Coffee tastes very acidic

Hi kdimof,
I realize you posted this problem over a year ago, but I was curious to see if you were ever able to resolve this problem, or find the exact cause.
I have the same issue you describe. I descaled my Lattissima for the first time using the Nespresso descaling solution. And now, two months later, I cannot remove the chemical smell/taste of the descaling solution. I've run numerous descaling cycles with just water (as per Nespresso's customer service advice), with no success. I was forced to accept a refurbished machine (even though my Lattissima was only 3 months old). The refurbished machine is currently on the way. We'll see if I have the same issue when I descale this one.
Thanks, Redfran

Suddenly coffee tastes TERRIBLE!!!

First try putting a cycle through with no coffee - see if you have any more luck identifying the taste. If you haven't descaled recently, that could be the cause - scale can hold other materials which can be tasted - run a cycle with 50% white vinegar, then rinse through a couple of times and see what you get - if you need to get rid of any vinegar taste, just run a cycle with a couple of teaspoons of bicarbonate of soda through. The water could still be to blame - even purified, there are certain things that can change that most purifying methods will not remove, such as higher salt levels during summer months etc. Make a cup of coffee without the machine at all, and see if you get the same aftertaste. The machine may not be to blame. Hope this helps, please ask again if you need more info :)
