SOURCE: Star SP200 printing issues?
There are many causes of this problem. I am more familiar with stratix printers though.
Check the cutter (if it is automatic) If it is jammed or not all the way retracted it will take the printer off line.
if you are using the serial/parallel port for the printer check to see if it has a cut in the wire.. Change cable if necessary.
The power supply may be introducing noise into the logics of the printer. If you are adventreous open the printer and inspect the power board for capacitors that have a round top or have dryed up oooze on them. They will need to be replaced or the board needs to be replaced.. Depends on your skill level.

I believe you are out of luck. Quickbook only support new generation of receipt printer. The SP200 is considered an old printer even so I am sure it still works great. For a painless install with Quickbooks by the Star TSP100.
