My ti83 plus buttons aren't working

Hi!

If the buttons on your TI-83 Plus calculator are not working and a RAM reset does not resolve the issue, you may need to try a few other steps to diagnose and fix the problem:

  1. Check for corrosion or debris: Carefully remove the battery cover and batteries from the calculator. Inspect the battery contacts for any corrosion or debris. If you see any, clean the contacts with a soft cloth or a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol. Be careful not to bend or damage the contacts.
  2. Check the keyboard: Inspect the keyboard for any physical damage or signs of wear. If you notice any damaged keys, you may need to replace the keyboard.
  3. Check the connector: If your calculator has an I/O port, try connecting it to a computer using a TI-Graph Link cable. If the calculator can communicate with the computer, then the issue is likely with the keyboard. If the calculator cannot communicate with the computer, the issue may be with the connector or the logic board.
  4. Contact TI Support: If the above steps do not resolve the issue, contact Texas Instruments customer support for further assistance. They may be able to provide additional troubleshooting steps or recommend a repair or replacement for your calculator.
Note that opening the calculator to attempt repairs can be risky and may void your warranty, so it's recommended that you contact TI Support before attempting any repairs yourself.

Hope these steps can help you further.

Regards

How do I switch from letters to number and calculator on my Dell keyboard Xp operating

Start, click Run, and type regedit to open the Windows registry editor.

In the registry, open the below folders.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\
Control Panel\
Keyboard\

Within the keyboard folder, you should have a string value named "InitialKeyboardIndicators" with a value of 0, 1, or 2. Below is the explanation of each of these values.

0 = Num Lock is turned OFF after the logon.
1 = Disable Num Lock.
2 = Numlock is turned ON after the logon.

hope this helps

Ti89 responds to resets but nothing else

If the calculator is several years old it may be showing its age.
There is a connection point between the keyboard and the display
that over time loses its efficiency. Try this: press a number key
and at the same time apply pressure with your thumb or index
finger to the region of the calculator just below the display.
If you press hard, the number may just show up in the display.
This is a test for the tightness (or electrical efficiency) of the
keyboard-to-display connections.
Another way to make this test is to twist the calculator while
you depress a number key.
Sometimes the effect is such that the keys on one side or the
other work, or don't work, and the keys in the middle don't work
or work okay. By twisting (don't break it!) the calculator body
while you press the keys will show the weakness of the
connector between the display and the keyboard.
This can be repaired by a good electronic technician if you
explain to him what I just told you.

Try to uninstall the keyboard from device manager. Right-click on my computer->Properties->Device manager-Right-click on keyboard(HID keyboard device) and uninstall it. Then reboot your computer if you just disabled it windows will re-install the driver automatically and re-enable it

Blue characters on the keyboard when I type

It is a combination of key known as "Function" (Fn, for short). You have to press it and hold while pressing other keys showing the blue letters on it. The most common use is to make a virtual Numerical Keypad on laptops, so you can perform calculations. To be back to normal mode, you need to press FN+F8 (or the key with the Calculator icon).

Invalid Dimensions for Graphing and Equation

Hello,
I suspect you are using the TINspire in TI84PLUS mode (with the TI84 keyboard).
If that is the case, the simplest procedure is to turn off STATPLOTS.
Press [2nd][STATPLOT] [4:PlotsOff][ENTER]. Calculator displays Done.

Hope it helps.

Keyboard calculator

You need to use th FN key to turn off the calculator keys. You can also disable this feature from the bios or utility set up. However, if it's just these three keys it may be a faulty keyboard or a driver glitch. Try uninstalling the keyboard drivers from the device manager, the reboot. It will find and reinstall the drivers. You could also check the keyboard connection, they sometimes work loose. If the problem persists after trying these, then you will have to replace the keyboard.
