SOURCE: Maytag Admiral LTF2112AR Fan inside of Freezer not

That will not be hard to diagnose or repair. Unplug refrigerator in not already. Then remove the rear panel in back of the freezer. Unplug the wires to fan and check voltage to the wires that were taken off the fan for 120 volts while someone plugs the power back in. If you have voltage in the 2 wires then see if maybe someone closed the refrigerator for a while and let rust set in on the fan bearings. Try spinning the fan before replacing. It could be stuck from setting up. If the fan is burned out replace the fan motor part number 63001057 Plug back in and you should be good to go. Sea Breeze

SOURCE: I have an Admiral top=freezer

Is the compressor making the noise or is it the fan motor that is making the noise. If the compressor then you are looking at over $500 for replacement and you will have to decide if your refrigerator is worth that type of investment.

But if it is the fan motor, then you could replace it yourself. http://www.appliancepartspros.com/partsearch/model.aspx?model_id=5170333 Item 11 is the fan motor and you could replace it. The compresson is item 1 and would require a trained person to replace it.

SOURCE: FREEZER NOT FREEZING, AIR IS

Hello, welcome to FixYa.

I'd be glad to address your concern on a LTF2112AR Admiral refrigerator (these are built by Maytag as you may or may not know) that as you stated "AIR IS COOL BUT NOT ENOUGH TO FREEZE WATER OR MAKE ICE CUBES, FRIDGE NOT AS COLD AS IT SHOULD BE", correct ?

While I can't speak to the issue of the bugs, I should be able to assist you to a solution with the cooling issue. I suspect if the unit were cooling correctly the bugs would be gone.

You mentioned the fan in the freezer is indeed operating, air movement can be felt, correct ? This is important because it will indicate if the unit is stuck in defrost.

I apologize for all the question,s but I find it is the best manner in getting to the actual issue as opposed to trying 20 different things.

If you can slide the fridge out it will be necessary to acknowledge if the condensor fan by the compressor is operating as well as the compressor itself. There should be a cover at the back made of cardboard you will likely need to remove.

Knowing both or either one of these components status will go a long way to determine what the possible problem and solution will be.

**I also have a complete service manual for these Maytag built units if it may serve you better. If interested please reply with an email address and I'll send it to you as a "pdf" attachment**

I will watch for your reply and we can go from there based on what you find. If you can also disclose whether or not you have testing equipment such as a miltimeter or what tools you have to work with.

Regards,

Macmarkus :)

I have an admiral refrigerator admiral designer series 21.1 cu ft.the motor is constanly running 8 to9 hrs at a time the left side of the door is always hot and the top of the refrigerator a repairman came...

yes compressor runs and shuts off every 8 - 10 hours for a half hour for defrost system mode. but ur hot left side may be a sign of issues needing to be addressed>

FRIDGE COILS or door walls SEEM VERY HOT:

The condenser coils do get hot. They can even be to hot to comfortably touch and this is normal.

The refrigerator should not run constantly but shut off with each defrost cycle.

Running constantly and never cycling off can indicate a cooling problem.

One thing to try is to wait till it has been running a few minutes then open the door and turn your cycling thermostat towards the off position. It should cycle off before getting to the off position on the dial.

If it does not cycle off then it's not getting cold enough to satisfy the thermostat. This is likely the reason the refrigerator runs all the time.

A thermometer in a glass of water can be used to check the temperatures in the refrigerator section.

You can check that all fans are running.

Run Hot water in the drain until it clears or use a hairdryer.
When the defrost melts the water it goes down the drain
If the drain is clogged with Ice or ? The defrost water
overflows into the ref. or freezer

We have an Admiral top freezer refrigerator. Freezer is working refrigerator is running at 60 degrees.

If there is no ice on the back wall of the freezer, make sure the freezer fan motor is running. If there is ice on the back wall of the freezer repair the defrost components. Timer, heater, thermostat.

Admiral side by side

All the cold air from your freezer gets pushed into the fridge with a fan in your freezer section. So your problem is from the fact that this cold air isn't get to your fridge.
- the door that allows this cold air into the fridge, normally in the top left corner of the fridge, is stuck shut and needs replacement.
-the freezer isn't defrosting and restricting the air flow
-the temp controller for the fridge is damaged and thinks that the fridge is cold enough.
