I have ordered the gas control coils from RepairClinic.com - Their standard diagnostic blurb also indicated that this was the problem. Cost is < $30 plus shipping. The dryer would repeatedly heat for 90 seconds and then the gas shuts off. Hopefully this will fix it. Thanks!

If ignitor continues to cycle on and off like normal but no flame, coils on gas valve are bad.

I would clean out the lint as thoroughly as possible. The symptoms seem to point to a thermal cutout switch activating. Usually the lint will cause the heat to build up to the point to where the unit shuts down for safety reasons. Try a deep and thorough cleaning first.

What would make our siemens ultra sense electric dryer stop running after about 5 to 10 minutes?

I SUSPECT YOU SHOULD CHECK UR MOISTER SENSOR LOCATED IN THE DOOR OF DRYER.

ELECTRIC Dryer no heat or little heat, or shuts down to fast:

Check your venting and lint basket. Check blower for lint build up and blower wheel obstruction., test by trying to turn the wheel manually by hand (should be easy) May have to remove cabinet or front/back plate to get to it)

Next check the heating element itself with a meter for continuity OHMS CLOSED CIRCUIT. If not its defective or has a short if its grounding out? Which in turns causes blown fuses or thermostats or overheating.

Check dryer Terminal block prongs both outside prongs should give combined 220, and 110 each if u check 1 outside & 1 center (ground) prong. Also check house electrical outlet for full voltage. 220 because if u only get half or 110 volts you will be able to run the machine which uses only 110 to run motor but not the heater which uses a full 220,

Check the thermal cut off, the cycling and the hi limit thermostats.
For continuity or OHMS. If no ohms or resistance they need replacement.

Lastly check your moister sensor. ( located inside the dryer door usually) Especially if machine seems to shut down early and clothes are still wet.
Test with a meter at room temperature and it should show continuity.
A failed moisture sensor will affect the dryer run time in the automatic moisture sensing cycle but it will not affect the heating of the dryer or the timed cycle. Which are reflected by the thermostats.

GE Profile dryer (DPSB620GCIWW) shuts after after 2 minutes, showing the clean lint filter light. Lint filter is clean Front panel removed, and airflow passage has been cleaned The vent hose has been...

Get some windex and clean the buildup off the sensors strips so that dampness can be detected by them and retry.
You can remove the smal sensor board mounted near the timer and clean corrosion off the contacts then plug it back in and retry if my first suggestion of cleaning the sensor strips don't work. In electronic sensing the wet clothes rub against the sensors and discharge a capacitor on that board. As long as the capacitor is discharged the motor will not get any power from the board. When no more wet is detected the board will power up the timer and move it on over to cooldown and end of cycle.

Heats spins but doesnt dry. its clean and lint free there is no exterior vent on it bosch axxis v20-ul thx

If you have heat, then it's an airflow issue as inside your dryer you have several thermostats, one is called the high limit thermostat, when the dryer can not vent properly, the heat builds up in the dryer and this thermostat cuts off the heating element for safety reasons, and the heat may not come back on for 20 minutes, I understand there is no exterior vent but the dryer does vent air. More then likely once you take the dryer apart and clean the lint out of the inside it will run correctly. Hope this helps Tim

Dryer runs and heats up.but shuts off after 3 minutes or so model #rex4635ew1

This problem is frequently caused by poor airflow. Make sure your lint screen and vent pipe are clear. Take the vent pipe off of the dryer and check that there's a good airflow from the machine itself. If there's little air there, it's possible the fan has come loose on its shaft. If the dryer sounds unusually noisy (loud, rumbling noises when it's running, for instance) this is a likely cause. Replacing the fan is something you can do yourself if you're comfortable with a screwdriver and have some patience.

Without enough airflow, heat builds up and the safety thermostat shuts off the heat. Get the air moving and it usually solves the trouble. If it doesn't help this time around, post a follow-up. Thanks for using Fixya!

The dryer runs fine, but there is no heat. I

You will find the heating elements on the driers are very robust. Normally what happens is there is either a build up of lint which has possibly blocked the air inlet grid,.or possibly being to close to the wall. This in turn restricts cooling airflow .There is a thermal protection thermostat which will activate and open circuit if temperature is exceeded at any time.Need to locate the thermostat and if lucky, you could simply press a button and it will reset. If not, you may need to replace that defective one. Typically the thermostat is at the back and close to the element.

The stainlessvent inside the dryer tumbler side gets red hot after running for half a minute causing clothes to burn

Generic solution offered.

Usually when an electric dryer overheats it's because of a defective cycling thermostat or a clogged vent system. Clean any lint from the internal and external ductwork, and/or replace the cycling thermostat.

Proper air flow is required for the dryer to operate normally. Airflow is interrupted when the door or front panel is open and the heat will gain rapidly. Operate the dryer without the vent connected and if it works normally, then inspect/clean/replace your venting. Make sure you clean the lint filter after every load.

Maytag Neptune Dryer taking hours to dry a load

Hello Friend, Your solution is simple. It sounds like your dryer is working properly, and your actual problem is a blockage somewhere in your 4 inch exhaust tubing. Check it and make sure it is not clogged up with excessive lint. Also if your tubing is clear you need to check your connection where it travels thru the wall etc. It would be a good idea to find the actual location where it exits to the ouside and check for good airflow. Your dryer is equiped with a safety thermistat and if you are not getting the proper exhaust flow the burner will cut off and restart in the manner that your's is doing. I Hope I have helped you, Tim. And please don't forget to give me your rating for my help.

Dryer starts but will shut down after 5 minutes.

Thermostat controls heat. There is also a motor centrifulgal switch, in the element circuit, that the motor closes to insure the motor is turning. Try another heat setting. There is more than one thermostat. You may have blown the 'thermal fuse' too, which requires replacement.

Tripped high limit. Must clean the lint filter and the exhaust vent tube and all the way in to the dryer. Hot air exit is restricted.
