Question about Fisher and Paykel 24 in. DD603H W Built-in Dishwasher

Open Question

In a 2 drawer dishwasher can 1 drawer still function even if the 2nd drawer is broken due to a controller [located in the front panel] being faulty.

The controller in the top drawer may be faulty and needs replacing, however should the bottom drawer still work normally even if the top drawer is broken?

SOURCE: Dishwasher not working

Hi there Fishgirl, Is your machine intergated with your kitchen or does it have a factory finish. If it is intergrated when the product stops open the drawer and tell me which wash cycle is lit. If it is a factory finish product, ie Stainless steel, does any fault code come up on the display screen on the front of the drawer. Kind Regards Carmen

SOURCE: Fisher & Paykel DD601 top drawer won't start.

Most likely the micro-switch that tells the controller that the drawer is closed is broken. Its a tiny little black switch at the back of the left drawer slide, it had a metal actuator that is prone to breaking.

SOURCE: I have a Fisher Paykel dishwasher with water in top drawer

You need a Air gap kit designed by Fisher and Paykel to address this problem. It is pricey but it is worthy. I used this and very happy with it since no back flow problem from one while other running. Here is a link to order it.

It's showing F-1 on front panel of two drawer dishwasher. The front panel on both dishwashers is giving me the F-1's.

F1 in both drawers means the base of the dishwasher (under bottom drawer) has flooded. Not sure what procedure you used to clean the top drawer with baking soda. It is likely there was a leak through the lid seals due to over frothing which has caused the flood switch to trip. If the frothing was minimal then the unit should work again as soon as base dries up. Otherwise you will have to take bottom drawer off and dry the base. Make sure the mains power to dishwasher is turned off before you work inside it.

possible causes
  • top drawer controller has lost power - replace power filter plate located at the base of dishwasher under bottom drawer controller
  • itself is faulty if you are getting some lights on the panel
  • thermal relay has tripped. It is located inside the heater element at the base of the drawer. The whole heater needs to be replaced.

My single Fisher & Paykel dishwasher drawer DS603I (Integrated Panel) turns on by itself even after turning off the light switch that controls both units that sit on opposite sides of the sink. The...

Yes ,you may be able to restore function by completely drying the area and PC board located under drawer.Use a hair dryer.
However , you will still have a leak and the problem will return.Usually the leak is drawer lid not closing properly. Suspect lid actuators have failed.Very common.Or some kind of obstruction. The drawer can be removed easily by removing 2 large plastic scews at drawer front. If lid actuators have never been replaced go ahead and do that.It is normal for other drawer to work fine.

Hope this helps you

Soap dispenser will not open.

the detergent dispenser is located behind the door panel. it is actuated by an electrical signal that powers a solenoid. two problems are possible. 1 the solenoid is not getting power or is defective, or 2, the linkage that connects the solenoid to the door release is broken or has come loose.
there are a few screws down each edge of the door ( usually phillips head) . sit in front of the dishwasher with a towel on your lap. remove the screws on each side and let the door panel fall in your lap on the towel. once the panel is off, you will see the back side of the detergent compartment. if the seal around the detergent drawer is leaking, you may find the solenoid electrical connection is corroded. ( unplug the dishwasher or turn off the breaker, as the solenoid is actuated by 110vac). if this is the case you may be able to clean the connnection. close the detergent drawer, and push on the plunger of the solenoid. the drawer door should pop open. if not, look for any binding in the linkage. if all looks well, run the dishwasher with the door panel off. when it gets to the main wash cycle, check the two terminals on the solenoid with a volt meter. if you never get power, it will be a bad control board. if you get power but the solenoid never actuates, you need a detergent drawer assembly. they are fairly inexpensive, and usually the seal fails causing the solenoid to get corroded.

How to shut off dishwasher? F1 is flashing on control panel.

Hi now F1 mean that your machine has triggered the flood alarm. there are two reasons this happens-- 1st-- there is a leak on one or both of your drawers. they leak because you might have a hole in one of the hoses or your lid is not shutting properly etc. the 2nd reason is that some water or soap suds escaped from the overflow. now i would like you to turn the machine off at the wall and leave it off for a couple of days to dry it out. then turn it on and use the lower drawer for one cycle. if it does not go F1 then try the top drawer for one cycle and see how it goes. if it continues to flash F1 then reply back for further help. good luck.

Top drawer stopped first with F1 and would not turn off. Now 2nd drawer is the same ,Had to turn off power to diswaher .

F1 means the flood switch is activated. This is located at the base of the housing under the bottom drawer. You will have to find if there is water collected at the base by extending out the bottom drawer. Make sure the power is turned off.

Use towels and hair dryer to dry base out. The terminals of the switch will have to dry out as well. Quicker way would be to get the bottom drawer out and fix it back after the drying operation.

Next you will have to find the source of the water collection. Cracked hoses, broken actuator link arm (that holds up the wires and hoses to allow the drawer to move in and out without getting entangled) or foaming inside the drawer due to use of incorrect detergent.

Good luck

The top drawer has stop working. There is no power going to it

Not sure how you can work out if power is going to the top drawer. If the controller has gone faulty then you will not see anything on the display. The controller is located on the front of the drawer unit behind the door panel.

Dishwasher stopped working. Suspect electronics issue.

An expert from another site says it's a faulty control panel and may need new actuators.
