Question about Toshiba PDR-3300 Digital Camera

Open Question

Where can I buy a SD card for an old Toshiba PDR 3300 camera? It will not take even a 1Gb

I have tried a 1 Gb card and that does not work. It must need less I think since it is an older camera?

SOURCE: SD card size

This camera only uses cards up to 512MB. In the back of the User Manual posted here, on about page 113, it states 512MB maximum. If a larger card is inserted, the LCD screen displays a message saying "This Card Cannot Be Used" with no explaination why.

SOURCE: lost memory card

Why can't you use a different card? Just put it in and format the new card in the camera.

SOURCE: I cannot find an SD card to work I have tried a

Hi,
I found a press release that the PDR-M500 cameras only support SD card sizes up to 512MB.
This was from June 2003 so this camera was quite an early one.
This was quite common in the early days to restrict the maximum card size the carmera could use.

The PDR-3300 works with MMC and SD cards. Your new 8GB card is actually an SDHC card. While it fits into the slot, it is electronically incompatible and will not work in the camera. You need to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller.

I need a SD card and would like to know if there are any compatable SD cards fot the Toshiba PDR-3300. Thank you.

Any SD card will work. You don't need to specify a particular brand, and speed won't make any difference to the camera (though a faster card may speed up downloads via a card reader). Just make sure you get an SD card, not an SDHC card.

Missing memory card

In all probability the memory card that came with your PDR-3300 was:

SD 8 MB Toshiba Memory Card.

SD cards with a much larger MB can be obtained at any large Drug Store, i.e. Walgreens, CVS, etc.

At the present time, these cards, 32 MB and larger are very inexpensive.

Your camera is an old model and can't handle big memory card. Use only 128 or 256MB card in this model.

Problem with camera writing to memory card

try this first: pull the SD card from the the slot and hold it right side up with the label facing you, there is a short slot on the side with a sliding switch. move it to the other side of the slot and that will unlock the card. (it probably go moved as your were putting the card back into your camera) good luck!

SD card size

You'd better find some local dealer and try. Newer SD cards use the new SDHC profile which is not supported by the camera. 1G and smaller cards should have no problem but even this largely depends on toshiba's programming ability. 4G and above probably would not work.

Erase Images

Press the trashcan button to erase a single image. Press and HOLD the trashcan button for the option to erase many images, all images, or to format the SD Card. It is good to Format the SD Cad from time to time after downloading the images to clear all residual memory files (even if you do not see them).

Card Error message

1. Always choose reliable quality SD Cards. Toshiba Digital Cameras are tested for maximum performance with Toshiba SD Cards, Delkin SD Cards and Panasonic SD Cards. These are leading brands in the development of standard SD technology. Performance by other brands of SD cards may vary. 2. Check the LOCK switch on the SD Card. The camera can not save images to an SD Card when it is in the lock protected position. 3. If the SD Card is NEW, it may be necessary to FORMAT the card. This only applies to NEW SD Cards. If you format a card with images, all images will be erased. You can FORMAT your card periodically to maximize capacity and erase 'unseen' files, please be sure to download all images before choosing FORMAT as all images will be erased. 4. Your Toshiba Digital Camera is designed for use with SD Cards. MultiMedia Cards are similar in size and shape to SD Cards, although with close inspection you will find that SD Cards have a different 'PIN" connection configuration, are slightly thicker in size, and have a manual slide LOCK switch on the side. Toshiba Digital Cameras are not designed or guaranteed to accept MultiMedia Cards. Please be sure to look for SD Cards from Toshiba, Panasonic and Delkin, the leaders in SD Card Technology.
