SOURCE: A woman has irregular menstrual

There is a VERY small time of the cycle that you can not get pregnant, however, that window is at the mercy of your body and there is NO timeframe that it 'let's' you know when it is safe, totally. ALWAYS think, without protection, you are taking a risk, might be lower, but there is the possibility. I once had a patient that SWORE she NEVER had *** until a full week after her cycle, yet she came up negative every time, well, she then thought she was infertile, started to have **** all the way through her cycle and got pregnant..... Please use protection every time if you are not wanting to start a family, but also, it helps keep STD's to a LOW transmission rate too, those **** too!!!! Guy

Add 5 days to your last menstrual cycle, then count the weeks from that date to the present date. It should be around 10 weeks. Congratulations!

How Does an MRI Work

Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), also known as nuclear magnetic resonance imaging, is a technique for creating detailed images of the human body.
The human body is mostly water. Water molecules (H20) contain hydrogen nuclei (protons), which become aligned in a magnetic field. An MRI scanner applies a very strong magnetic field (about 0.2 to 3 Teslas, or roughly a thousand times the strength of a typical fridge magnet), which aligns the proton "spins."
The scanner also produces a radio frequency current that creates a varying magnetic field. The protons absorb the energy from the variable field and flip their spins. When the field is turned off, the protons gradually return to their normal spin, a process called precession. The return process produces a radio signal that can be measured by receivers in the scanner and made into an image.

My mom had a MRI scan of her brain. White spots were detected on both her frontal lobes of her brain. What could this indicate?

MRI cancers and tumors images benign or malignant
are solid masses
not white dots ..also the patient would be presenting with a few specific symptoms if a tumor or cancer was present
and other tests would be required not just an MRI

depending on age
and health of patient ....if its good ..without symptoms
may never be a issue .
more will .will depend on the MRI radiologist report

Put all you questions and your concerns to the specialist team

MRI isnt the only diagnostic tool available to these specialists
plenty of information , biopsies , key hole techniques and trial drugs out there

one possible answer about white spots on an MRI
bright spots, representing multiple sclerosis brain lesions, that form and then grow, shrink, or disappear over 12 months

Multiple Sclerosis

My wife is having horrible menstrual cramps. what medication can she take to ease them?

from http://www.mayoclinic.com :

  • NSAIDs. Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) may be helpful in relieving the pain of menstrual cramps. Your doctor may initially suggest taking over-the-counter NSAIDs, such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others) or naproxen (Aleve), at regular doses starting the day before you expect your period to begin. Prescription NSAIDs, such as mefenamic acid (Ponstel), are also available.

  • Hormonal birth control. Oral birth control pills contain hormones that prevent ovulation and reduce the severity of menstrual cramps. These hormones can also be delivered in several other forms: an injection, a patch you wear on your skin, an implant placed under the skin of your arm or a flexible ring that you insert

Hi I just recieved my blood test results & I have abnormal progestrone levels. what does this mean and is this serious?

Progesterone is a steroid hormone involved in the female menstrual cycle, pregnancy (supports gestation) and embryogenesis of humans and other species. Progesterone belongs to a class of hormones called progestogens, and is the major naturally occurring human progestogene.
In women, progesterone levels are relatively low during the preovulatory phase of the menstrual cycle, rise after ovulation, and are elevated during the luteal phase. Progesterone levels tend to be < 2 ng/ml prior to ovulation, and > 5 ng/ml after ovulation. If pregnancy occurs, progesterone levels are initially maintained at luteal levels. With the onset of the luteal-placental shift in progesterone support of the pregnancy, levels start to rise further and may reach 100-200 ng/ml at term. Whether a decrease in progesterone levels is critical for the initiation of labor has been argued and may be species-specific. After delivery of the placenta and during lactation, progesterone levels are very low. Progesterone levels are relatively low in children and postmenopausal women.[19] Adult males have levels similar to those in women during the follicular phase of the menstrual cycle.
Depending on the level actually, it could post to be a very serious threat or not so harmful,
The best way to go about this is to see a doctor and see if they have anything supplements regarding your issue of progesterone. They should be able to help you out on this situation.
Hope this helps? Please comment for more information and thank you for using fixya.
