The problem is either the video graphics card in the computer or the monitor, if you have a backup monitor check the computer first, if the same problem persists the video graphics card is bad. If however the second monitor is fine, then your monitor is the problem, The screen is breaking down, if you have a detachable video cable, sub it for another to make sure there are no issues,if okay your monitor is the problem and not cost effective for repair.

I have an Acer AL 1914 Monitor. Green light


Check power supply section for bad caps first.
Most common failures in the LCD monitors are bad capacitors (bulging top/seal or leaking) in the power supply, blown fuses, failed inverter circuits (blown fuse, shorted transistors, shorted/open transformers), bad lamps (poor solder connections or worn out lamps). gulabgoud, Most monitors come apart the same way, or almost!!! May I suggest that you visit YOUTUBE to search and view some video clips of VALID (good) "lcd monitor disassembly" and / or "lcd monitor repair" ??? Have you ever heard the expression "a picture (in your case video clip) is worth a thousand words" Good luck guy, your on your own!!! If this helps you out, please rate this response on fixya. maybe a short circut happened and fried your monitor's decoding unit... There probably is nothing you can do to fix it and you can't really do anything with it other than trashing or potentially expermenting with the thing, but bewarned, It may jump back to your laptop...

put it face down (over a clean soft cloth) and start loosing all screw, after this with a swiss knife on the edges, start loosing the plastic with patience... always unplugged...
