Question about Vizio Televison & Video

Open Question

I have a VBR120A_3_3_014_VBR_19_03 vizio blu_ray player that is wired only. I have a phone line connected from the BLU-Ray player directly to the wall. How do I find my Ip address (which currently shows as 0.0.0.0) so I can manually configure?

SOURCE: I have freestanding Series 8 dishwasher. Lately during the filling cycle water hammer is occurring. How can this be resolved

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: I have a Vizio VBR120

The default IP mode is set to Dynamic, which means your player will automatically detect and use
your network settings after you connect your Ethernet cable, but you can manually change these
settings if you are an advanced user and are comfortable with networks.
1. Turn on your player and your TV. If a DVD is not in the disc tray, the Home menu will be
displayed. If a DVD is in the disc tray, press SETUP to display the Home menu.
2. Connect one end of an Ethernet cable (not included) to the Ethernet port on your player
3. Connect the other end of the Ethernet cable to your home network (usually your router
home network must have broadband Internet access such as cable or DSL.
4. Press to select Settings, and then press SELECT.
5. Press to select Network, and then press SELECT.
6. Press ^ or down to select Wired and then press SELECT.
7. Press to change IP Mode to Manual and then press SELECT.
8. Manually change your network settings such as IP Address, Subnet Mask, Default
Gateway, the Primary DNS, and Secondary DNS.
9. Press ^ or down to select Apply and then press SELECT.
Note: If you need additional help setting up your network, please refer to the user manual for your
router or contact the manufacturer of either your router or your Internet service provider if they
provided the router for you.

Your ip settings will look something like this 192.168.2.1

You might be able to find you setting by going to Network Connections -> 2x click on Local Area Connection -> then click on the support tab.

What is flashing yellow light on back?

does it have a wired ethernet port in the back? If it does that is the light that is flashing. The digital sound should have a small cover over it that prevents you from seeing the light it emits.

I have a vizio vbr 2011 wireless blu ray player. im unable to connect it to my arris dg860p2 routor. please help

i presume you mean a VBR210.
Both the player and router use 802.11N at 2.4GHz so they are compatible.
Check the security on the router that it does not require MAC addresses.
Check the firewall, DHCP and parental controls on the router
Try a hard cable to see if that works.
Most smart units will not setup WiFi if you have a network cable plugged in.
Try both the press button and manual PIN methods to connect the player
See the manual pages 20-22
Good luck

Vbr 231 updates

If you go into the "settings" option and look under "info" it should show your current softwareicon1.png version. The most recent update is VBR231A_3_3_035_VBR_36_01 from December of 2011. there haven't been any releases since then, unfortunately. There doesn't appear to be any sites or mirrors to download this update. Usually, these errors are due to a lack of content available for download.

I have a vizio blu-ray player vbr120a. I can't seem to see or setup the wireless capability with the player. does it exist? no instructions in the box, but downloaded the manual. thank you

The VBR120 has no native wireless capacity; it only has wired ethernet built in.

I do not see the VBR120A anywhere on the Vizio Site.

I wish that I had better news for you.
