Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of.(from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones)
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Goodluck!

SOURCE: Dell latitude E4300 having wireless connection

The 169.254.x.x IP Address is known as an APIPA address:

http://www.webopedia.com/TERM/A/APIPA.html

In your situation, it is indicating that the system is not receiving an IP address assignment from the Router.

Troubleshooting steps:

  1. power off, then power on the router and the computer, see if the system gets a valid IP address.
  2. Right click the wireless connection, click Repair
  3. Reinstall the wireless driver
  4. try a different wireless network see if wireless works on another network

How to turn on keyboard light of dell latitude E4300

I also had that problem when I bought a Dell E4300 online without any drivers installed. It just needs the appropriate drivers for the backlit keyboard to work. You can simply go to the Official Dell driver download page at this link
Dell Drivers Download Center
and install the Download Installer. You put in your product information and the rest is automated. The next step is to run the scan and up pops all the drivers that are missing from your product. It's easy but it can be a little time consuming.

Turn on bluetooth

Mike Evans,

The Bluetooth and Wireless are turned on/off by the wifi catcher switch on the right side of the laptop. You could then go into the Bluetooth options in the control panel to setup pairing.

WIRELESS CONNECTION

check to see that your wireless antenae is on.. it is possible to turn on via your keyboard with a function key. this saves energy on the laptop. Look at your keyboard and see if you see a function key on one of your keys that is activated by teh FNC key.

Hi you could try this...

On the problem PC, go into Control Panel, Internet and Network Connections, then select Network Connections.

You should see a wireless connection if you have a wireless card installed.

Right click the connection and select "enable".
