I recently changed the lamp on my lg 44sz8r now the picture is very dim i have been told the lamp clock needs to be reset so the power will return to full as its a safty feature to stop blowing your telly when the old lamp dies so my problem is how do i reset the lamp clock i can find the service menu but i dont know where to go from there can you help please cause lg will not give me any help at all
The only way to reset the lamp timer is with the LG programmer remote, however resetting the lamp timer does not affect the picture quality. If you need a part # for the remote let me know. Maybe you can find an auth. service center who will let you use the remote. If they do, simply power the unit up and when running hit the instart button on the programmer remote and after the menu comes on the screen simply hit the offstart button. The unit will shut of and when you power it again the lamp timer will be reset.

As I stated the first time, resetting the lamp hours is not going to improve picture quality....... The only time I see a dim picture the lamp is bad. Did you use an OEM lamp or a knock off lamp. Many sources are selling knock off lamps that are poor quality. If the lamp is not the problem then there is no simple answer.

[1] Press the OK or MUTE button on the front panel of TV and the MUTE button on the remote control at the same time for about 5 seconds.
[2] Press the VOLUME button > button
[3] Press OK or ENTER button
Lamp time will reset - that's it.
