Check and replace damaged component/s at its backlight inverter board, or replace this board as card basis. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Viewing it in "Mosaic" or "Magazine" will make surf easy. Surf the site with patience. Pull up older posts. Do a search by type in the brand name of your device at its search box.

SOURCE: Have a Sanyo Plasma TV

Hello,

Yep. The power supply in Sanyo Plasmas are generally prone to failures. It could be a failure in the panel not priming, but I doubt it. Turn the lights off in the room, then try to turn it on. If you see the screen faintly flash, the panel is priming, but it is not coming on. If the screen is lit, but is still "black," then it is a control or digital board. If it is totally black with no light at all, then it doesn't entirely rule out the first two, but makes a power supply failure more likely.

They usually have a lot of heat damage to them. If you have tried unplugging it for 15 minutes, then plugging it back in and it still doesn't work, the it is most likely a secondary in the power supply.

I hope this helps you...

It sounds like you have a power supply problem, this powers the inverter! Where you just replaced the inverter, we could assume it is good! Look for some bad caps (capacitors) on the power supply board. They will look bulged on the top an may be a little leaky (brownish stain). The power supply can fail on some output and be good on others. Was the back light inverter new? If all else fails, see if you can return the back light inverter and get another! I hope this is helpful!!

Sanyo DP26649 screen blacks out and sound becomes loud static

Most likely you will need to get a diagnoses performed on the set. Your problem could be with either the main board or power supply board. The million dollar question is do you repair or replace? With parts and labor to repair this set, you could come out cheaper replacing it.

The model listed here does not use a bulb or lamp and most likely not a do it yourself repair---consider having a shop look at this and get a estimate.

When tv turned on will get apicture for only a few seconds then screen goes black, but wil continue to have audio. Cannot pull up menu on tv either

Hello. The screen goes black means that the backlights of your LCD is not working.Maybe the problem is the power supply or the driver board of the backlights. They shutdown because there have a shorted parts on the circuit or power supply. Did you try to reset the power and turned on and get a picture or every time that you reset the power it will get a picture and the picture goes black?

Sound on model dp19640 only goes up to 50%. need to increase sound.

Try to reset the tv by unplugging the power cord from the power outlet leave it off for 3-5 minutes. If that would not work try to call the tv manufacturer to have your tv warranted, either the manufacturer will replace or repair your tv depending on your warranty. If the tv is already out of warranty call the tv manufacturer still to get a service center that have an expertise in repairing such brand.

TV Picture Goes Black

I had the same exact problem.
I removed the bulb and cleaned it. There is a small screen at the top of the bulb and it was covered with dust. Once it was cleaned I replaced the bulb and it solved the problem.
Thanks to those who posted the solutions
