What causes a Rockola jukebox not to index?

I have a Rockola model 480 jukebox. It will accept credit and allows the selection numbers to be input, but does not index or do anything else. Any suggestions on where to look?

I might be wrong about this but check inside for a switch marked Scan/off/play inside at the front of the mech. It should be in play position. Also check any circuit breakers and reset them on the upper back of the machine (inside). They look like the clicky end of a ball point pen.
After that I am stuck.

I checked the scan switch and the resets. I traced the problem down to the profit setter control board. I had to get the manual and schematics, and now I found a working board for it. Hopefully this is the only problem with it.

Been given a grade 5 Rockola 160 433, need a copy of the service manual

Contact the folks at and tell them the make and model of your jukebox. They will have the manual set for around $50. Also, they bought out the entire Rockola factory parts inventory. So if by chance you needed Rockola parts, they would have it.

I purchased a used Wurlitzer 1015, question When selecting number 51 is a code number 82 and does not play can you explain me this, what the problem is thanks

The number of Cds in the carousel can be set on the Credit unit to stop it playing fresh air if for example you only have 50 Cds and not a whole 100. Sounds like yours is set to 50 so won't play anything over 50.
I 'think' this is what you do.
On the computer credit unit...
Service Switch ON...Press LT button.
Press 5 on the keyboard once.
Enter 0000
Service Switch off.
Press LT or turn machine off/on.

I have a Rockola 450 jukebox that has developed a hum when it is on - also when a selection is made it plays another song, usually the one immediately preceding it. I have not been able to find anyone...

I don't remember if this year/model has a tube amplifier or not. If it were just the hum, I would say it's time to have the tubes checked out or replaced. Since you are having malfunctions with the operation of the mechanical processes as well, my experience with these has been: Best case - a bad ground in the electronics. More than half of the ones I've fixed for people (with similar problems), I fixed by removing the electronic components, cleaning connectors, checking wires, and bolting everything back down tight. This is something you can do. (have you moved the jukebox lately? has it been jolted?) Worst Case - time and heat have caused a component on a circuit board to fail, or go out of tolerance. This will require an electronics repairman, and likely access to the schematic diagrams of the board(s). The schematics of these old jukeboxes are available for free online. There are forums specifically for Rockola Jukeboxes, which have dedicated repair sections you can ask other owners of the same vintage for help.

How do you set the Rockola 480 to free play?

For free play on Rock-Ola 480. Open your jukebox, on the right, you will see a large metal box marked Profit Setter. In this box are Sections A, B and D. In section D, you will see very small white buttons on a pink background. Push ALL of the buttons in section D to the left with a pen.It will play for free until changed. For money, put it back like it was. It will also play all songs automatically. If you wanna know that, e-mail to
