I have had my playstation3 for approx 3 years now never had a problem with it. Today I tried to load up Infamous and during the load screen the power went out of the system and is not receiving any power. The outlet is working properly and tried it in other outlets as well, Now i'm out one PS3 and a game cause it stuck inside. Any Suggestions,
I live in Ontario and would like to know where it can be repaired.

Re: playstation not receiving power
This could be a problem with your AC power cord, try these fixes. If they do not work you ca contact sony at:
www.us.playstation.com/Support/PS3 or www.uk.playstation.com/help-support/ps3
The console might not be turned on. Turn on the console using the main power switch on the back of the console.
Make sure the AC power cord is securely connected.
Visually inspect the AC power cord for damage. Do not use if frayed, cut, or damaged in any way.
Confirm the wall power outlet is active (receiving power). Try a different power outlet.
If possible, test the power cord by connecting it to a different PLAYSTATION 3.
If possible, try another AC power cord on your PLAYSTATION 3.
If you experienced a power surge, shortage, or a lightning storm in
your geographical area recently, this may have affected the PLAYSTATION
3 power supply and the PLAYSTATION 3 may need service.
Make sure the vents are not obstructed in anyway.
Make sure there is adequate ventilation for the PLAYSTATION 3.
There should be at least four (4) inches of clearance between the air
vents on the system and any walls, televisions, entertainment centers,
etc. Otherwise the unit may not function properly due to what are
actually environmental issues.

you have to change your laser lens, thats probably what's wrong since your ps3 does not recognize the game when you insert it, you can chage it your self by buying a new laser lens for your ps3 if you do make sure to specify your playstation3 system i.e: Playstation 3 80gb or Playstation 3 SLIM 250 gb
You will have to either install a new HDD or call sony ( look under the contact us info on the ps3 website) and have it repaired. You will have to get them to send you a box and then send it to them. Hopefully you are under warranty, otherwise it will cost approx $180
Contact Sony and tell them the problem. As long has youve had the playstation3 for under one year and have not touched the warranty seal at the side of the playstation then you can have your old playstation3 replaced.
Try this: Hard Reset procedure for the PS3 (as instructed by Sony CS).
Be sure to backup your settings/games saves by doing a System > Backup on your PS3 or you may lose your game saves! Also, this is a last resort procedure prior to exchanging/returning to sony.
1. Power Off the PS3 via the power switch in back and power back on w/switch.
2. Hold Power Button on the Front until you hear 3 beeps.
3. Then go through the initial setup and then run a full Format via System > Format. (will take approx 3 1/1 hours). You may need to have our AV cables ready if your using HDMI (in case HDMI isn't detected after initial reset).
4. Restore your backup you made prior to doing factory/hard reset (optional, if you created a backup).
