If there is no button to take the face plate off then flip it down as if you are going to load a cd and pull to the left and then towards you.

You need to take the unit apart to fix the cable since the other end of it plugs into the board inside, it's pretty easy to take apart though. Good luck!

SOURCE: unresponsive face plate/ buttons
check wiring to make sure all wires r properly connected, sounds like a power problem . if it is an expensive radio and it is broken then its probably worth fixing.if its a cheepie than chunk it and get a new one

The capacitors in these plates tend to burn out quickly for being so hot and lack of air cooling circulation. You can test all connection pins on the deck and faceplate with an ohmmeter in ohm setting to see which pins is not sending 25-30 ohms or 5 volts of power
