Sounds like the rubber cushions that keep the agitator in place have deteriorated. They're under the top and exposed pretty easy

SOURCE: Noisy Dryer Drum - Squealing/Grinding type Noise.

I have a Kenmore Stacked Washer/Dryer (Model 417.91702000) that has had the same thing happen. I have replace mine twice . . .It is the rear dryer bearing.

You can purchase a kit that contains everything to replace it.

You have to work from the front, all the way to the back.

Make sure that you also check the felt pad glide on the front door panel (the drum rotates on this). You may need to replace it also, it should have teflon pads built into the felt that the drum rests on . . .

Sounds like you need to have your machine looked at by a professional. You should not be finding rubber pieces in the machine.

Rubbery shavings in drum of wft7016pp top loader after every wash

Possible that an inspection on the door seals must confirm this case as it could be worn out or is out of alignment.
Check the drum and door seals to confirm. If so replace the gaskets.

I have an LG washing machine Model WM1814CW. It makes a loud clanking sound in the spin cycle and the back of the drum has a thick black greasy substance on it & has leaked onto the floor. What could...

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. It sounds like it is your spin bearings. It would explain the grease and the noise also. The spin bearings have to do with the spinning of the washer. Usually, if there are loud noises associated with the washer, it is either the motor drive or the spin bearing.

you probably have a coin or button stuck in the small motor inpellor that helps push the water out when rinse is done. its located under drum of washer should be a black rubbery hose leading from drum to small motor. its a pain to clear it but that was the problem mine had and there was change in it messing up the motor

I took the back panel off my front loader washer, then un hooked the hose it was good okay, the black rubbery thingy i squeezed it and there is something inside it can you tell me what is that rubbery...

The filter lies inside the big black hose, you can get it by unscrewing the top clamp. Clean out all the coins, hair, whatever evil and refit filter as you found it. You can disconnect other hoses with a grip plier to have better access. If you have difficulty in re-fixing with the spring clips you can refit with jubilee worm drive clips, any hardware store.

GE Profile Dryer will Not Spin

I opened the dryer panel and saw that one of the two belts that stabilize the drum had come off. It is a soft, sticky, rubbery substance and part of it and balled up so it was wedged between the drum and the dryer wall. I cut that portion off and it runs fine now.
