The cause is that the Compass is too heavy for any of the engine combinations offered. Further, and especially in the case of the 2.4L, the engines are far from efficient even when used in appropriately weighted vehicles.
This is the least effective product that Chrysler/Jeep has ever offered - not only my thoughts, look around (at non-Chrysler/Jeep websites).
Chrysler/Jeep does NOT have a reputation for selling vehicles that are economical - and a tank weighing some 4600lbs with only 175 horsepower (and that's with the 2.4L) on SUV-tyres should not be expected to do any better than 30-40 mpg. I'd be surprised if your mileage wasn't more realistically around 50mpg, since the ratings system used in US is somewhat 'generous' to the manufacturer.

My gas stove seems to have what i would call a after burn

If it is just short final flare, it is probably just the gas still in the supply pipe to the burner. That last bit of gas will burn off rapidly right after the valve is turned off.

Burns to much gas

my similar problem on 4 cyl jeep was cured by replacing both O2 sensors and coolant temp sensor (for second time). Also problem seemed to be related to putting too much oil on spector air filter and using carb cleaner which appeared to foul O2 sensors (a second time). replace sensors O2 sensors a 2nd time, stopped carb cleaner and now wipe off excess air filter oil and let dry in sun, and fuel economy went back up to 75-80+ miles per 1/4 tank of gas (vs. 55-60 miles per 1/4 tank of gas with fouled sensors).

I have a gaz fireplace Marco DWF36CF-3 vented and would like to know if i can burn wood in it

Hello,
My name is mike. YOU DO NOT want to attempt to burn wood in a gas fireplace. The reason for it, is the venting is not designed for the fumes and high heat the wood produces. Only way you can safely burn wood, in a gas fireplace is have to make sure the piping and venting is set up correct to burn wood. Your problem is not most likely your stove or fireplace for the safety, it would be your venting. Thanks Mike

How much clearance do i need to leave on top of the water heater between the insulation and the chimmney? is the insulation fireproof?

Gas or electric?

1) Electric heater can be completely covered with insulation except TP valve. Set electric heater on insulated surface. Insulate pipes completely right down to tank.

2) Gas heater is different.
No insulation over combustion area, or gas valve, or air inlet or. No insulation on top of tank that will interfere with venting of dangerous combustion products including odorless CO gas. Foam insulation on pipes should stop 10" short of tank top. No insulation within 6" of the 3-4" inch galvanized vent pipe.

Here's photo with gas water heater insulation tips:
http://waterheatertimer.org/images/Insulate-gas-water-heater.jpg
http://waterheatertimer.org/9-ways-to-save-with-water-heater.html

3) Tankless gas. No insulation on box. No pipe insulation within 12". No insulation near vent pipe.

4) How much clearance between heater and chimney?? Not sure what that means. Is that the water heater vent stack? Or where vent stack goes into chimney stack? No insulation on gas flue pipes. Or within 6 inches of 3-4" water heater vent pipes

5) Is insulation fireproof? Everything burns if it's hot enough. If you throw insulation into backyard fire, paper and foil will burn away and insulation kind of falls apart in the heat. Fiberglass insulation cannot be set on fire with a match. Foam pipe insulation will burn.

GAS MILEAGE IS MORE IN THE CITY.WHEN YOU STOP AND GO.THEN ACCELERATE THATS WHEN YOU BURN GAS.TAKES FUEL TO PUT VECHICLE IN MOTION.TRY CHANGING AIR FILTER.CHECK TIRES AIR PRESSURE.CLEAN FUEL INJECTORS.AND CHECK UNDER THE VECHICLE AND UNDER HOOD FOR GAS LEAKS.

My ventless gas heater smells like kerosene..wont burn off? makes us sick !!! bad headaches, watery eyes..gas co came , said it wasnt the gas?...no matter how long it burns, wont go away,we have cleaned it...

Stuff in the air can make you very sick when it is burned, is it Natural Gas or LP? Sometimes you can get bad LP gas that will burn your eyes. I would open a window to get more fresh air and try to let it burn to get whatever is making the problem out of the air.
