This has happened to be before but what I did is it helps if you do a factory reset. Yes I know it will get rid of everything on it but as far as I am aware there is no other way to stop this glitch on the htc.

Also when the battery drains quickly after charging it normally means that your battery is powering something on your phone which is making it drain quickly. But I would check that when you get home turn the internet connection to Wi-Fi and when you are out and about turn it to the mobiles internet. But as I have learnt that when you are out E.g when you are in a shopping center or anywhere else that is not connected to your Wi-Fi that you should always shut it down and not just leave it to sleep when it comes to turning it off :-)

Battery drain overnight on a mercedes e320 2003

Unseen things can sometimes brain your battery. A trunk light that doesn't go off when the trunk is closed. Open the trunk and touch the bulb quickly, it should not be hot yet. If it is it's stuck on. The same goes for the glove compartment light.

There could be a problem with the alternator or even a battery that just won't hold a charge as opposed to an actual power drain. Fully charge the battery and then disconnect it for the night. Next morning reconnect it. If the charge is holding it will start just fine. If it doesn't then your battery is suspect.

Battery on pc charging slow

Click on the battery icon on the bottom right of your screen and make sure your computer is in Battery Saver mode. This should help it charge faster. In addition, closing any open programs or rebooting should help close any tasks that got stuck open and are draining CPU power.

My battery died so I had it charged, when I put it back in the lights kept going up and down and I still couldn't start it???

Hi Sean, Could you explain what you mean by the lights going up and down? Do you mean that they brighten and dim, and if so is it during the attempted start up, Keep in mind that the greatest drain of power from the battery is during the starter operation, therefore all lights and as many other circuits should be off during that time. If the lights are left on and the battery is weak or the battery connections need cleaning, a power dip is not unusual. Charge the battery, clean the terminals and make sure the battery towers and terminals are clean, or use another good battery and try again. Regards John

Hello Tuy,

It seems that you have to update the software of HTC HD2 Smartphone. HTC provides Rom Upgrade in which it completely replaces the built - in software in the phone. Rom upgrade in the HTC HD2 Smartphone extends its features, imroves its performance which makes it easy to use.

Download the Rom Upgrade from the link provided below :

http://www.htc.com/www/SupportDownload.aspx?p_id=297&cat=2&dl_id=856

Rom upgradation completely erase the personal data and the customized settingsor any installed programs in the
HTC HD2 Smartphone. Before Rom upgradation pleas backup all your data.

Please visit the below links to backup your data before upgradation :

http://www.htc.com/www/howto.aspx?p_id=297&id=191

http://www.htc.com/www/howto.aspx?p_id=297&id=187

During ROM upgrade, make sure that your phone battery is at least 50% charged. Automatic standby and hibernation are disabled in computer, and close all running programs. Do not disconnect your
HTC HD2 Smartphone from your computer while the phone software is being updated. If you disconnect the HTC HD2 Smartphonee during the software update, it may become unusable.

The battery drains off very quickly as soon as i fully charge it and unplug it,, it hardly satys upto 12hours with minimal phone usage,, the battery metre usage shows cell standby 42% and also phone idle...

Go to teh phone settings, and under sync accounts disable all teh sync accounts that you are not using such as stocks etc. These constantly use up data and hence drains your battery as they do so in teh background. This should greatly improve your battery. If not, your battery must eb damaged and i woudl suggest you purchase an extended battery which may have up to 40% more battery life.

I have an htc ozone, what is the proper way to charge it for maximum battery life? seems to drain out shortly after an all night full charge. Thanks.

I just got my Ozone a few days ago. What you should always do with an electronic device is charge it fully before turning it on. Then using it until it dies completely with no battery. Then fully charge it again for maximum battery life.

You can go to Start, Settings, More, Power, Power Management. Change the different things to make it save on power. Also a big help is Start, System tools, Task Manager and delete everything that is being used. That just turns it off in the background, it doesn't delete the program.

Discharge Battery

If it is within warranty, have them replace the unit. Are you using a wall charger or a trickle-charger such as the USB Cable? The wall charger is the only way to truly charge it to full.

If you are using a USB charger or other trickle charger, after the device says it is fully charged remove it from the charger for about 2 minutes and then reconnect it. It will then charge (most of) the rest of the way.

If you don't do this, the problems gets worse and worse. After 1 day, the trickle charger may get you up to a 90% charge. After two days, 80%, etc. After a week you'll only be holding half a charge, even though the device is reporting a full charge while on the charger.

Another tip I have found is to perform a soft-reset after removing it from the charger, particularly if it has been plugged in for a long time at full charge (more than an hour or so). It seems like the device doesn't always detect that it has been unplugged and tries to **** down juice as if it were still plugged in. If you have noticed that your device gets pretty hot when the battery drains quickly, this is probably what is happening to you.

You also haven't mentioned the programs that you are using during the day. Some programs, particularly chat clients, will drain the battery in about 5 hours, though obviously you're not using anything like this while in flight mode.

One more thing. You noted that you were told that leaving it on the charger whenever possible is the thing to do. This is incorrect. The more the battery is exercised in this way, the shorter the lifespan of the battery will be. With any mobile device we're all bound to charge it every night, but once it is charged you want to take it off the charger. A battery being fully charged is just as bad as a battery being fully drained, so you want to keep it somewhere in between as much as possible. __________________
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
