Hello,

It sounds like you have a monitor with a common problem. After a few years some LCD monitors willblow a power supply. The problem is caused by parts called capacitors overheating in the confined space of he monitor. When the capacitors blow out they also damage the driver MOSFETs. If you are good at electronics repair/soldering you can usually fix he problem. Check out a few pictures on my web site www.ccl-la.com/badcaps.htm You can take the back cover off your monitor and look for the bad parts, replace any that look like the pictures and your monitor should work fine. The capacitors do need to be installed with the correct + and - connections, note the stripe on the old one and insert the new one the same way. I am putting together a step by step repair guide for this series of LCD monitors, it should be up by 07/11, check my web site for the guide. Repair parts kits are also available for $16.95 If you don't want to try the repair yourself we offer a repair service for $35 plus shipping. If you are not going to repair it we will buy it from you for parts, we pay $30 for dead/as-is units.

I hope this helps, if so please rate my solution.

My monitor Chimei CMV 946A gets 2 sec. picture but then went black. power still on

Excuse me but your descripton is not clear enough. Do you get ALWAYS 2 seconds of picture and then your monitor goes black or it went black after 2 seconds and you never more got a screen

In any case, ask help from a friend, letting you to connect your monitor to another computer. Would pinpoint problem and discard eventual video card issue.

I was playing solitaire on our home PC and the power went off and the screen went black. Before it went black it said "no input signal go to power save" Everytime I try to turn the computer on...

It means that your monitor is not getting a signal from your PC. Your monitor is fine though. You will need to plug the video cable from your monitor into the onboard video if you are using a graphics card. If you are not using a graphics card then you will probebly need to get a PC technition to diagnose the problem with your motherboard.

My Samsung 213T monitor went black. Power light

I will not be surprised that it will be bad capacitors, that is the first place to check, see some samples here: http://s807.photobucket.com/albums/yy352/budm/Samsung%20Syncmaster%20214T/
