The unit is negatively boyant and when filled with water should have no problem sinking to the bottom. you can get weights that go on the hose that will aid in sinking the vac but these are more to adjust the pattern it uses

SOURCE: Zodiac Baracuda Zippy Pool Cleaner hose tear

I haven't seen any bulletins on the Zippy hoses. You might adjust the flow to the cleaner. You can find the Manual for the zippy cleaner on this page beneith the diagram. It shows how the star control works. You can also contact the Mfg Technical Support at Phone: 800-822-7933 They might be able to warranty a hose or two for you.

SOURCE: the zodiac works for seveal minutes, then the pool

sounds like you may have an air leak somewhere. If not from your zodiac hose, it may be in the plumbing itself. Check the threaded fitting on the suction side of the pump, check the pump lid o-ring, and depending on the pump, check the gasket between the hair/lint pot and the volute or seal plate (especially if it's a sta-rite).

This usually happens when there is a small stick jambing in the bottom of the openning in the Kreepy Krauly where it sucks in the water and rubbish. It is the rubber tube that has a ****, usually something is jambed in the **** to prevent it from thumping.

SOURCE: Hi, we have a Zodiac

With these pool cleaners, getting stuck in one spot is most likely the result of a waterflow problem. Check your water flow valve and make sure that it is adjusted correctly. make sure that you don't have any blockage that would prevent movement and cause the cleaner to stick in one place. This might seem like common sense, but make sure that you have enough hose to reach the entire pool. Many times, when this occurs, the cleaner cannot reach one part of the pool. make sure that your hose balance is correct also.

Hurlcon pool pump. Lack of pressure. Creepy crawley will not pulsate. Pump working at 110 pressure - no change. Checked all joints with soapy water.

When you mention the 110 pressure with no change are you saying that the pump is operating at the same level as before and the Kreepy was functional with this level of pressure before? If this is the case then your problem is with the Kreepy itself. This sounds like something is in the Kreepy Krawly line or the unit itself. Many things can become lodged in the unit like acorns, bottle caps, or simply there is a leak in the vacuum hose. I would investigate the unit for impeding debris.

Why won't it sink to the bottom?

Air trapped in the unit. They do not float unless air is trapped. Turn upside down under water to relieve trapped air.

Check to see that the hose weights are attached. There should be a weight in the middle of the fist 3 sections of hose from the cleaner.

My creepy crawley will not pulsate, or does for 5 minutes then stops pulsating but keeps on sucking. I have read a few complaints and from what I can gather, I need to replace the flapper valve. What is...

ok first of all the flapper is located right in the center at the bottom of the creepy crawley. Pull it out of the pool turn it upside down and you can actually move it with your hands and it will feel like it loose and not really connected. Anyhow check in the mouth - opening for any kind of obstuction (leaves, twigs or anything foreign that may be causing it to fail. There can be something flopping around inside causing it to work sporadic or the flapper may need replaced however I doubt that. Next you need to check your circulation. Is there to much suction? this would cause it to stay in one spot and not move. Do you have an air leak causing the pump to lose prime and then regain it over and over? There are two ways you can check for air. At the pump basket - if you have a clear top can you see bubbles or on your return lines to the pool is there bubbles coming out? To much circulation and poor circulation can cause the creepy to do weird things. When was your filter last cleaned? Is there the required amount D.E. inside? Have you backwashed the filter at all? The last thing to check would be the hoses connected to the creepy crawley. Some hoses become loosly connected and start sucking air. Some hoses rub along the plaster continuously in the same spot causing holes. Although unlikely, poor water chemistry - chemical damage can cause hoses to deteriate over the years.

I hope this helps. Please feel free to submit any further questions you may have and I will be glad to answer them for you. Good Luck!!

My creepy crawley has to much suction and gets stuck in one spot is there a way of turning the suction down

Attenuate your skimmer valve slowly to reduce the suction until the cleaner runs smoothly across the bottom of the pool. If you do not have a skimmer valve I would recommend installing an inline PVC valve in the suction hose close to the skimmer so that it is accessible. Close the valve slowly until proper suction is achieved.

I have a Zodiac Baracuda G3 pool cleaner once the the pump switches off at night the next morning creepy does not sit flat on the bottom of the pool the front side stands up in the the air if you lift the...

It sounds like your house weights need to be adjusted. When the pool cleaner is resting, it should always sit at a 45 degree angle on the bottom of the pool. If it stands up on the front side, try sliding the weight away from the cleaner head. You may need to make several small adjustments to get the balance right, but this is almost surely your problem. Here is a copy of the users manual if you want to read more about hose weights and balance:

Your picture says that you have a baracuda, but if you have a kreepy I can help. Here is the owners manual for the Kreepy Krawly. These automatic pool cleaners are not hard to get back together with instructions.

Does not clean the whole pool

may need to re-weight it or add helpers.
I had to add a rope system to my pool to get the creepy crawly to all the spots.

Not the best fix - but keeps the pool clean.
