Hello. It sounds like the tv was set in turning off mode at those times you said. The best thing to do is read the tv's owners manuale first. Then care fully go though the settings just like you did when you bought it brand new. Good Luck.

SOURCE: my lg dgital television has started turning itself

I had exactly the same problem with mine. I re-routed the power and ariel lead so that they were not running both together and it stopped the problem ! it's been fine since i did it 4 months now and counting. No more scary episodes of TV suddenly blaring out at 03:00 am :-)

SOURCE: Hi, my LG 37LG60 TV has an annoying problem where

had a very similar situation with my Phillips 42 in. LCD TV.

Here was my Problem. The Power Supply Board. I opened it up( Warranty was Expired) and found several faulty capacitors on the PSB. Its pretty common. Major Electronic companies were sold faulty capacitors that fail in 2-5 years instead of 10-20 due to a lack of preservatives. It wouldn't surprise me if you have the same problem. TV will work fine for a few years and then just fail completely or slowly deteriorate.

Here are the solutions
1. Have it Repaired
2. Check for faulty caps and if you find some(budged or leaking) you know you have located a problem
Remove the board and replace the whole thing.
3. If you have some soldering skills you can replace the faulty caps.
Caps are very inexpensive, under a dollar in most cases. I replaced 4 for about $5.00

Hope this Helps.
Good Luck

SOURCE: LG 42pc5d plasma television.

Hello,

It's the problem of overheating in the power supply board of the TV.on the power supply board of the TV there are few capacitors and IC.any of this IC is got short or may be weak.so due to this when you start the TV the current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of TV.but when the current passes from that weak/faulty part at that time current gets stopped or slow and the board overheats and TV shuts off. this is a common problem faced by many other users too.the possible option to solve this issue is to check the power supply board by a meter and continuity tester and replace the faulty component on the board which is short due to which power supply board is getting overheated.its bit technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it done by the technician. for required parts it can be easily available from local electronic hardware shop.

Hope this will help in solving the problem.......

How do I get to my HDMI channel?

It isn't a 'channel' it is a connection port. Once a cable box or DVD / blue Ray player is plugged into it, you choose the port using the Input button on your remote and scroll through them.

That set has 2 HDMI connectors on the back panel, right side, more or less by themselves, to the lower left of the antenna jack.

I have switched the TV off at the switch. When I have turned it on again the picture doesnt appear and the red light just keeps flashing.

Hello,

First you need to try turn it on using the remote, by pressing any of the number buttons on the remote. If it does the same, then you go ahead to press the power button from the television to see if it comes on.

If either of them does not turn on the television, then you will have to reset the television. To do so, unplug the television for some minutes, lets say about 5 minutes, then you plug it back on, then press and hold the power button for about 15-30 seconds and it will restart the television.

That should help start up the television.

Hope this helped.

Last night the set just turned off by itself. When I try to power on, the power light comes on for a second and then it shuts itself off again.

I am having this exact problem. The TV turned off by itself and now when I try to turn it on, the power light stays on for a sec and goes of with a click sound.
