Brother Super Galaxie 3000?
(Babylock Ellageo is a similar machine)
I would contact Brother's Support; these should be several letters in front of the 3000 number.

Original designer I and the touch screen is frozen.

The front cover will have to be removed to access the componets to find the problem... it could be as simple as a loose connection or as complicated as having to replace the touch screen. Removing the front cover is not a simple task if you do not have experience in working on this machine. I would suggest it go in to an "authorized dealer.

The icons are out of sync.

Have a sewing machine needle handy and turn the machine off.

With your left hand, press and hold /StartStop, Up/Down and reverse while switching on the machine. The screen should display little cross hairs. Using the BLUNT end of the needle NOT THE TIP, press the exact center of the cross hairs. Continue a the cross hairs will change positions on the screen. When finished, switch machine off, wait five seconds and switch back on.

Touch screen

The most likely culprit is the cable of the touchscreen. If the cable is about 1/2" wide and yellowish brown in color, take it to your dealer and ask them to calibrate the touch screen for you. The screen can be calibrated by a trained technician without having the ability to use the screen for the adjustment.
If the cable is about 1" wide and green, save up your money and have your dealer replace your touch screen. Those cables are very short and if you flex the end prior to getting your hand in to disconnect it you can very easily damage the cable and the touch screen must be replaced. Also, if the cable was pulled taught during removal and pulled out of the connector on the main ckt board prior to releasing the locking device the contacts on the ribbon may have been damaged.
Just be honest with your dealer and tell them that you can't afford a costly repair at this time and you need to know what is wrong.
I don't know what your dealer will charge for labor, but I can say that a new touch screen costs about 5 times what a new bobbin winder does. Removing the covers of modern machines on your own can end up causing your repair cost to skyrocket. Also, once the pin in the bobbin winder has moved in the frame, it will most likely move again and the winder should be replaced to avoid recurrence.

Bobbin Winder Works--Stitching Does Not

The second microswitch that is located just to the right of the bobbin winder stop tells the machine that it is set to wind a bobbin.

If the machine does not indicate that the bobbin winder is engaged, the second microswitch is not the problem. The bobbin winder itself is what shifts the clutch. If it is pulled downward, the clutch is disengaged and the upper shaft does not turn. Place your thumb under the bobbin winder, push it upwards and the clutch automatically re-engages and the shaft will turn.

Be very careful with the touch screen cable with the front cover off. If it has the older style cable on it, they are very delicate when releasing and reconnecting. If you put the front cover back on and the touch screen does not work, this will be the most likely problem. You will need to have the touch screen replaced.

You need to get your bobbin winder turned off first, then worry about the stop contacting the thread. If the stop is not tripped, then it is in its normal position and everything should work fine.

When not filling a bobbin, simply raise the bobbin winder and you should be ready to sew. Look at the opening around the winder shaft in the front cover and you will need to have it up and to the right. Just push the shaft with your thumb.

Remove Cover

Sorry for asking which machine you are opening. I got to this post through multiple links and didn't realize I was in a Designer 1 area.

Yes, you do need to remove screws in the bottom to remove the covers. I do not recommend that you do this due to electrical safety issues. When the front cover is lifted away from the machine, you will find 6 different types of connectors attaching cables between the front cover and the machine. You will be able to move the front cover approximately 3.5 inches away from the machine to reach in and disconnect these cables. The touch screen cable, if it has not been replaced, is very short and very fragile and will cause the touch screen to stop working in the blink of an eye. If you don't know what you are doing, it is dangerous for both you and the machine.
