Is my camera broke?

posted by Maygun on Nov 04, 2007

My Sharp Viewcam VL-E780 is not powering up. I bought a new universal charger and a new energizer battery. After charging about an hour, I put it in the camera and It powered up long enough for me to remove the tape. Then it said not enough battery and shut off. Charged the battery about 7 hours, put it back in and now the screen blinks sporadically. Is my camera bad? While it was charging, the "Charge" light blinked red and green?
I have the same problem.

sounds like your battery or charger might be defective. I have this camera an when the battery is to low it flashes the screen.
I still use the original charger that came with it to charge the batteries, been thru 4 of those. It seems if they set a while without being charged the go bad.
