You are jumping the gun here. Try first to see if adjusting the contrast will not solve the "problem".

To LIGHTEN screen display.

Turn calculator ON by pressing the ON button.
Press the [2nd] key and release it (Press it just one time)
Press the down arrow and HOLD pressure (keep pressing).
The screen should start lightening up.
Release the Down Arrow when screen contrast is good enough for you.

As to the user manual, it contains no circuit diagram. If you want the manual to learn HOW TO USE the calculator, here is the link.
Select the language on the right.

How would I key in 8! in my TI-83 plus cal. thank you Raymond

8. MATH. PRB. !.

That is how you get the factorial of a number.

The factorial is beneath the PRB list, which is inside the MATH menu.

Adios,

I'm trying to find the fraction button on my texas instrument ti 83 plus calculator and cannot find it

There is no "fraction" button on the TI-83 plus. You will have to press the divide key (2 buttons below the CLEAR key) and then use the parentheses (immediately to the left of the divide key) to tell the calculator the correct order of operations. For example, "1/3x+9" means ".333333x+9", but "1/(3x)+9" means the "x" goes on the bottom of the fraction.

TI-83 plus error: overflow

The factorial of 120 is 6.6895029134491270575881180540904e+198
which is too big for most calculators to display, i.e. it is 199 digits long.
