SOURCE: I have Kitchen Aid Dishwasher

I removed the tracks from inside the dishwasher.  Then I was able to carefully remove the endcaps (something I had not been able to do previously) carefully.  The existing broken wheels slid out and I slid two new brackets into each track.   If I attached the tracks to the rack first, I would not be able to clip them into place, so I first replaced the endcaps and then returned the tracks to their positions inside the dishwasher. Reattaching the upper rack is not difficult, but takes two people while I connected the left side, my assistant supported the rack on the right side.  I then connected the right side of the rack.  I slide the rack back and forth to macke sure that is worked smoothly.  We then loaded the dishwasher and washed our dishes as we had in the past.

SOURCE: Kenmore ultra wash dishwasher model number 665.158.5090

the only way you can tell if the upper rack is not getting enough water is to turn a glass right side up in each corner. then run for 2 minutes and see if there is water in each cup.
if you still dont get water, then you have checked the pump, the only thing left is that you are not getting enough water into the unit.
start the d/w at a normal cycle, let it fill and go into the wash cycle, takes about 3 minutes, then check to see if the water level is just below the heating element. if so then it has to be the wash pump being plugged.
if not enough water then you should change the water inlet valve. some times they do get plugged but also make sure you are getting full water pressure to the unit as that could cause not enough water into unit. the faucet under sink could be at fault i have seen valve work but not let enough water in, so dont be surprised if you need a new valve.

SOURCE: How do you remove the upper dishwasher rack? It's

The upper rack is held by four side brackets. They are not removable unless you pull the dishwasher out from under the cabinet. Not very homeowner friendly.

The end of the track facing out has a plastic cap with a half circle molded into it. Slide the half circle sidways to release it from the track. Remove the basket. It will be obvious from that point how the adjusters are attached.

Upper rack track wheel broke

You can try to obtain the part from KitchenAid or an appliance parts supplier. However, you may only be able to get the complete assembly.

2002 Ford Explorer my steering wheel is super loose I can spin in around in a circle. I replaced the rack and pinion last year. Would the rack be causing this to happen?

No --the coupler at the bottom of the steering column
that attaches to the rack has come loose

Extremely dangerous & the first one I have ever heard of

Whining sound from front end

hi, if the sound comes from behind your wheels try checking the steering rack isnt loose also check the tracking rods, easiest way to check these are park your car tight against a curb and try and turn the steering wheel if your wheels are tight to the curb your steering shouldnt move. if the steering wheel can be moved your steering rack is loose. if the sound is more center to the engine your cambelt is slipping and needs adjusting or replacing.

98 chrysler concorde. My steering wheel does not move my tires, Some connection must have came loose. When I jacked it up i could easily move the front tires and i see a long rod moving freely. Could you...

A person would have to see it to tell you what connection needs replaced. But I will try to explain what you sould see.

From the Spindles (the part that the wheel pretty much attaches to) you will see a Tie Rod (might be the long rod you're refere to). They will go attach to the steering rack (AKA rack and pinion). One on each side.

Then from the rack there will be a shaft that comes out on the drivers side that goes to the steering wheel. From the rack along the way there will be universal joints. They look like a swivel that comes with a socket wrench set. Those universals are clamped onto a shaft. Make sure the bolts are still in the universal joints and are clamped tight to the shafts. There may be a rubber boot between the firewall and the rack you need to pull back to see a universal. There may also be a universal joint inside the car under the dash.

madmikers_8.jpg (the silver shaft in the image is where the steering wheel shaft would attach to)

I remember hearing about steering rack failures in a few Chrysler models so everything on yours may be tight and its just the internals on the rack itself have failed. Might want to do a search for any recall notices. If it is the rack itself you might be able to get it replaced for free if there was a safety recall.

Two grey plastic pieces came loose. Don't know where they belong inside the dishwasher? They are both the same. They apparently hook onto something on the rack, but I don't have a clue?

If these two grey pieces are about 1 1/2" long and a 1/2" wide. They are used to retain the upper rack onto the tracks to prent the rack from falling out and used as a rack stopper. There are two on the front and two on the back of the top rack. How to insert them may differ dependant on the model. look at the two still attached and you may be able to re-install them.

2 upper rack rollers cracked in Maytag #MDB7600AWS - cant find simple replacement rollers for inside track - 1 1/4" - of upper rack.

JP Weld works great on repairing these junky Maytag parts. Note that they don't have a replacement for these upper wheels and a guy is selling expensive stainless steel replacements. The round connector broke off of ours that holds the wheel to the rack. My wife found a plastic button that fit within the space and we glued it with JP Weld epoxy (water and temperature resistant). 10 washes later, still working great! I expect it will "heal" any other plastic parts. NEVER will I buy a Maytag again!
