Obviously, there is a possibility that the on/off switch is faulty.
Other than that, the only reason I have seen for the camera not coming on is depleted batteries (or maybe the batteries have been inserted in the wrong direction).
If you have a battery tester (a useful device you can find in many stores), you should test your batteries to see if they are good. One bad battery in the camera can render the remaining three batteries useless, even though they may be fine. That's why having a tester is handy to find out the condition of all batteries.
