SOURCE: I have a SX102M paper shreder that wont shrede

It's the paper sensing microswitch. Wire a small toggle switch and drill a small hole for it on the far right side of the top housing. Just remember that the switch has to be turned off when you are finished shredding or the motor will keep running till it burns out

SOURCE: paper jam. Ready lite comes on but shreder will not start shreding

Common problem with paper shreds blocking the sensors on top and bottom of cutter asm. You may have to remove the top of unit to properly clean. When removing top, be very careful with the short ribbon cable. Lift top slowly and then reach under and disconnect from main board. Once top is off, you can cycle motor by hand and try to remove shreds with needle nose pliers. Of course, disconnect power first.

SOURCE: I have a brand new P58Cs and it runs continuously

most of these shredders have tiny clip sensors that have little levers that are depressed when paper is fed into the teeth if the sensors get jammed closed then the shredder rollers will keep going try cleaning the rollers free of all loose bits of paper and you should be right

take care

SOURCE: OUR FELLOWES CROSS CUT SHREDDER

It worked!!! Now my Fellowes DM8C is working like a brand new shredder. At first, I cleaned the sensors several times and it did not work. Then, I disassembled the shredder head, removed the two sensors, cleaned them with a wet cotton towell, put them back in place, reassembled the shredder head and voilà! My shredder automatically starts when the sensors detect paper and stops a few seconds after the paper has passed through. GLEOSA

OUR FELLOWES CROSS CUT SHREDDER WILL KEEP ON RUNNING AFTER THE PAPER HAS BEEN SHREDDED. ARE THERE SENSORS THAT COULD POSSIBLY BE COVERED IN PAPER DUST?

If you look into the slot you feed the paper into, you should see a two little bumps that are facing each other in the center of the slot. These are the sensors that tell the unit to turn on/off. You can try cleaning them with a paper towel or long q-tip. If this does not fix it, then the sensors will have to be replaced. Most Fellowes machines have a 3-year warranty, you can call Fellowes at 1-800-955-0959 to see if yours is under warranty.

We have a CR220 fellowes shredder. It will shred 1/2 of a peice of paper, then the basket full light comes on even tho the basket is empty.

you can try cleaning the "bin- full" sensors. they are located on the inside of cabinet, on the bottom of the shredder "head". one will be to the left side of basket and one to the right. they kind of look like little glass eyes mounted inside of black rubber casings. paper dust on these will do this sometimes. if that doesn't do it then it sounds like your "bin-full" sensors are bad. a known problem with these shredders. fellowes has come out with modified sensors. if it was purchased within 2 years, it should still be under warranty.

Runs continuously when in the on position.

there is paper jammed in front of the sensor. it was likely caused by feeding too much paper into the shedder at one time and now a chunk of shedded paper bits it blocking the sensor from seeing that the shedder is clear
