Hi, had the same problem with my RS21DCNS engineer came and made a modification to drain hole (made the hole bigger!) this allows for a little more ice to form without causing the horrid noise. A new backplate was ordered as all new models have a larger hole in the backplate already. It only takes a few mins and it under guarantee if you bought less than 2 yrs ago, but you will have to empty fridge side to allow them to get to inside at the back. Good luck.

SOURCE: Ice Maker problem
There is a water valve that "feeds" the ice maker. When the Ice maker makes ice it sends a signal to the water valve, it opens for approx. 7 seconds and fills ice tray with water. Another cause of no water in IM could be frozen water line where it feeds the IM.

the fan behind the ice maker is iced up poss fault defrost heater gone try total defrost faor a list 36 hrs restart it noise come back then you need to repace the defrost heater hope this helps

Sound like the problem may be a gear broken or damaged in the module which appears to be replaceable in your model. If you can dissasemble it enough to inspect the gears you may can replace the part instead of the entire ice maker. In case ice doesn't come out, pull out the ice bucket and press test button located on the right side of ice maker (if your model supports it.) `
If the screw auger is stuck, the Ice Maker needs to be replaced as a unit. Unfortunately, the refrigerator can only use ice makers which are made by Samsung Electronics, which means that you have to buy it from them and the ice-maker can only be installed by Samsung or its service agent.
If you need your Ice Maker working, you have to call Samsung at 1-800-SAMSUNG to schedule a service visit.
