Question about Zebra Office Equipment & Supplies

Why won't my zebra 450 ctp will not stay calibrated?

I can go all day with my zebra 450 printer working just fine, or it will print 1 label and then a blank label. It is wasting allot of labels. What can I do to fix this. I have tried calibrating it, but it won't stay fixed.

SOURCE: Zebra S600 printer continues calibrating

The factory default settings for the S600 is to auto calibrate every time the printhead is closed and every time the power is cycled. If the media sensor is not positioned correctly for the media you are using the label size will not be detected during a calibration. You mentioned the media has no markings, doe sthe media have a space between the labels? If so, the media sensor may not see the gap in the labels adn therefor is not calibrating properly or not calibrating at all. Check the media sensor position. I have found that the media sensor must be at least 1" from the inner wall of the printer so it doesn't see the edge of the backing in oder to read the size of the labels.

SOURCE: Zebra Z4m calibration doesn't work with different labels

You need to run the internal media sensor calibration setup that is built into the menu. This can take a few minutes but will solve this problem. The machine needs to be setup for the media you are running. This is no fun if you have to change a lot during a day and each media type has diferent qualities. It ususually happens when you are using labels from one manufacturer and then switch to a diferent brand. The backing material has diferent characteristics that the machine needs to be setup to be able to handle.

SOURCE: I have a zebra TLP 3844-Z printer. My printer

Sounds like it is set to do a label length check at power on. Go into your printer preferences and set it to "do nothing" on power up.

I think this is more related to the calibration of the label each time you change the new label size. I use ZM400 and your printer should also have the same setting. Under setting, put the When Head Close setting to Calibration. This will let the calibration perform automatically when ever you load a new label size and close the print head. Well 2 label will be lost every time.

there must be a label gap sensor in there somewhere. see if you can find it in the label path and clean anything you see off of it. does this printer have a calibrate function? if so do that after you clean the sensor. here are the calibration instructions from zebra https://www.zebra.com/us/en/support-downloads/knowledge-articles/zp-series--calibrating-the-printer.html

I have Zebra LP 2844-Z printer and the barcodes

Here are 3 suggestions.

1
Check that your label size definition is correct, measure your label height in mm and check that your printer driver settings match.

2
Perform a calibration. How?? when printer is on labels loaded and green light, hold feed key and wait for 2 blinks then release feed key. (If you release it after 1 flash you will print a configuration label)

3
If you are using Zebra Designer, download latest version of Zdesigner V2. Install latest printer driver V2.63. This driver & Zdesigner allows you to calibrate the printer directly from within Zdesigner. Go to File/Printer settings/ advanced options and click calibrate at bottom of page. when printer calibrates then tick the box USE PRINTER SETTINGS and printer will now work properly.
