hey guys
i know how you all feel atm... don't you all feel like throwing your phone at the wall and stomping on it? cos i sure did...

well..there is a simple solution to the camera problem.
what you have to do is change the destination of where you would like to store your photos!
just change that...and it should be working again

if you're still having problems... catch me on youtube ...

If the camera function will not save a picture and instead gives you the "Camera on standby" warning, but your phone is otherwise working, and you haven't used up all your memory, the problem might be with the MicroSD card. Many Nokia phones format MicroSD with, I think, FAT16, which limited the number of files that fit in a given folder to 256. You may have just filled up the camera memory folder with 256 files and you need to delete some or create a new folder on the MicroSD and use that as the new camera memory bank. Happened with my Nokia 6126 a few minutes ago and I was PISSED until i realized the quick fix.

camera on standby nokia 6288

Comment by xmac, posted on Nov 09, 2008

On my Nokia 6288 the camera when is activated goes to standby mode.
If I press any key, restarts the phon. None of the solutions ,emtioned so far here did anything (f.i. hard reset, redirect the storage folder etc)

Comment by nbass, posted on Oct 15, 2008

same happens to me. pressing the camera button on the side makes the camera stall and go to standby mode. if you press any buttons during the stall the phone freezes and needs restarting. interesting thing is that the camera sometimes does work.
