Update your sat nav by going to the quick gps fix. I recently couldn't get a signal and wonderd why this was happening. You need to do the gps update /fix - I did last night and I tested it this morning and now everything is back to normal!

Why is my gps losing its signal

Try connecting it to the computer and running an update from TomTom Home, there is a GPS fix that might help. Obviously the TomTom needs clearence to see the satalites in the sky otherwise try a hard reset with a pen in the bottom.

It keeps losing the plot!

if your device has not enough satts it wil not be able to calculate its correct position. when its loosing the plot you can have a look howmany sats he receives. if it are only 2 or 3 it can be the problem. what you can do to make it receive more satts, is go online with tomtomhome and load newest quick gps fix. thats a file with satt info for the next period of two months. it will search faster and know more satts. good luck.

My tom tom sat nav keeps going off i have replaced the battery but it goes dead and the screen goes off even when it shows it is fully charged if i wait a short time and switch it back on it will work for...

Hello there:
This issue usually results from eitherr a bad battery connection
or a lose wire inside the unit
i would suggest to remove the battery and look at the pins that the battery touches and see if they are bent or loose and see if they are clean and not corroded and than try to reinstall the battery and see what happens if this still does not solve your problem than i would consult a authorized tomtom repair center and if you have a warranty i would use it

Garmin will not get sat sig

try recharging it fully on ac charger, failing that you have damaged thew SIIRF chip and that is costly to repair.. claim on insurance and buy an Altina, tomtom are cheap and nasty and expensive to repair. try for a decent unit when you get your insurance momey. they are supported in adelaide not singapore or china.

TomTom Home does not recognise device

Have you created a TomTom account? For each device you own it needs its own e mail address which it links to and you need to be logged in when you plug in your Tomtom.
