Check the fuel filter, air cleaner, and muffler for plugging. Check the condition of the fuel lines. Make sure the choke is operating properly. Be sure to use a synthetic chain saw oil in the fuel, not boat motor oil. I'm assuming that the jet screws have not been adjusted in an attempt to fix the problem. Hope this helps!

Mcculoch mt 300mcculoch petrol strimmer carb two adjustable screw bolts ones for petrol, ones petrol & air mixture hich one does which

Actually both screws are for petrol mix. The screw closest to the engine is the Lo side. Lo side jet provides petrol at idle and during the ramp up to speed. Hi side jet (closest to air filter) only effects the mix at high speed.
From McCulloch, these were set at 1 1/4 turns out.
Good luck!

How to retunr ryobi strimmer 30 cc engine

Try turning the mixture and air screws all the way again and then out only one and a fourth turns. One and a half turns is only used on larger engines (riding mowers, push mowers). From one and a fourth turn you should be able to do a better ajustment.

Strimmer Case Removal

there are 2 small screw under the black plasic part. If you've taken all the "visable" screws out the molded plasic part snaps off. Also there is 1 screw under the label. Use your finger to locate the hole and just poke your screwdriver thru it label to remove it.

I hope that helps a little.........
