### Find the smallest two consecutive even integers such that three times the smaller is at least 19 more than the sum of the two integers

Let x be the smallest number.
Let x + 2 be the other number (consecutive even integer)

Now to translate the rest;)
three times the smaller 3(x)
19 more -19
sum of the two integers - (x) +( x+2)

Pulling it together,
3x -19 = x + x +2
collect like terms
3x - 19 = 2x + 2
Put all the constants on one side by adding 19 to both sides.
3x - 19 +19= 2x + 2 + 19
3x = 2x +21
Subtract 2x from both sides to have all the x's on one side.
3x - 2x = 2x +21 - 2x
x = 21
The other number is 21 + 2, or 23
Check:three times the smaller = 3 x 21 = 63
sum of the two integers = 21 + 23 or 44
is 63 at least 19 more than 44

### The sum of two numbers is 20. the larger of two numbers is four less than thrice the smaller.What are the numbers?

Assume this:
A is the greater number
B is the lesser

You have 2 equations

A + B = 20
A = 3xB - 4

Substitute the solution for the second eqation into the first

(3xB - 4 ) + B = 20

solve for B

3xB + B = 20 + 4
4xB = 24
B = 6

solve for A with solution for B

go back to equation 2

A = 3xB - 4
A = 3x6 - 4
A = 14

So A = 14
and B = 6

Otherwise use trial and error.

Hope that helps.

### I would like the percentage between these 2 figures 1,130 & 1,058

It depends on which way you want to go.
100*(1,130-1,058)/1,130 gives 6.37% so the smaller number is 6.37% smaller than the larger number.
100*(1,130-1,058)/1,058 gives 6.81, so the larger number is 6.81% larger than the smaller number.
