Nespresso Inissia M105 does not heat the water

Hi everyone! I just bought a Nespresso Inissia (the Magimix M105 model), did the first use step (just make coffee without using a coffee pod three times), and then started making coffees. The first three coffees were fine, so I know I'm not screwing up : press either of the buttons, wait for them to stop blinking so that the machine heats the water (25 seconds), then when they stop blinking, press the button corresponding to the amount of coffee you want. It worked for three coffees. And then, still on the very day I bought the machine, it just stopped. When I press the button, the buttons start blinking, and keep on blinking. Forever. I got the machine just there, it's been blinking for 20 minutes + (the time I went to,, checking if there was an active nespresso subreddit, and so on.) Let me just tell it to make a coffee... [...]'s not cold enough for me to call it "cold", but it's definitely not warm. After 20+ minutes of "heating" instead of the 25 seconds promised. So I don't know what to do. tells me that I have to make sure that my cups are pre-heated (1- really?, 2- I don't see how it will help, you can't make coffee with cold water), tells me to descale it (really? It's brand new, so you mean to tell me I have to descale my machine every three coffees made?), and the obscure user manual is obscure as f*ck (just a bunch of icons that are incomprehensible at best). Any help would be appreciated.

SOURCE: Krups Nespresso FNA2 coffe/cappucino machine

First thing to try is a descale. Run the machine normally using it (as if making a cup of both types) a couple of times with a 50/50 mix of white vinegar and water. Leave the machine off but uncleaned overnight. run a couple of cycles with just water, and if there is still a slight vinegar taste then run a cycle with a teaspoon of baking soda in water, then flush with just water again. If this doesn't solve the problem, try again with 75% vinegar. If still not working, there is either a control board problem (may be solveable), or the valve/solenoid that stops/allows the water is sticking, almost certainly solveable by taking that apart and cleaning/lubricating. Definitely solveable by replacement. Let me know what you get after a descale if no luck. Hope this helps :)

SOURCE: water not heating up enough, misplaced a manual.

Here is a place where you can get manuals

I have had this problem before: Could be two things either the boiler or the sensors that measure the temperature of the boiler. Normally the red flashing light that you get on startup will never go away if the boiler doesn't get to temp. If your light goes to constant red, it means that it thinks the boiler is at temp ( but it isnt). That points a bit to the temp sensor.

There are two sensors, one that regulates the temp and one that is an emergency cut off device incase the boiler gets too hot. Both must be working. If you download the manuals, they will show the position of these (if its the more detailed manuals with parts.

Taking these machines apart and putting them back together is a bear of a task, I have done it several times. Might be worth taking it in as you have to pull the whole assembly out of the container to get to the boiler.

Hope that helps.

Can I use vinegar and water to descale the machine instead of the expensive kit? What proportion water to vinegar?

You can use vinegar freely, just wash your coffee maker when ready.
Vinegar only descales, won't damage metal and rubber parts.

My Nespresso inissia is not working. the lights come on and when i press either of the buttons to run the coffee through the button flashes but the machine makes no noise and nothing happens. Please Help

I would imagine the main pump/heater unit has failed. Probably better to buy a new one, unless you can take it back to the outlet where it was purchased.

Inissia keeps blinking

Thios could indicate the machine has returned to factory settings. Other than that it requires repair - check the user guide..

Why too little coffee

The machine is calibrated to produce a certain amount of water depending on which button is pressed (Lungo or expresso - larger or smaller cup). This can be altered by holding down the relevant button - check this manual..

Brand new Nespresso Inissia M105 won't heat the water

Just a brief addition, I don't have the Magimix model, but I have a similar one. It loses it's programmed settings if it is unplugged or switched off at the wall, but if you leave it plugged in but turn it off with the switch at the back it keeps the settings you have put in. It draws virtually no power when it's switched off with the switch on the machine, (I checked it with a power meter).
Just thought I'd share that with you.

Hi, i cannot get water to go through the machine through the coffee capsule. The machine makes the pump noises etc but no water comes through from the jug at the back. Any suggestions of what to do? We do...

You can download the instruction manual from various places online; the instructions for the automatic and manual versions are slightly different but you can find them here:

As a first step I would suggest checking that the water can get out of the tank (just touching it with your fingers (over a sink!) should let drips out). It not, try cleaning that. You could also try descaling it (as in the manual). By the way, if the machine is less than three years old and you still have proof of purchase the Nespresso club will honour the warranty and fix it free of charge; if not, give them a call anyway and see what you can get them to do for you.

I opened mine when this did this - it also happened to my second Magimix Nespresso Manual machine. A short pipe carrying pressurized water had burst. I called Nespresso . parts were not available and they offered me a new half-price machine. We are talking a 4 inch piece of plastic tubing here. Shame on you Nespresso for encouraging me to throw what is otherwise a fine machine....
