Question about Canon imageRUNNER 210S Copier

1 Answer

Non profit has a Canon imageRunner 210S- bought in 2000. minimal copies have been made since we are closed for construction (`10000 per year). is it worth keeping a service contract on a machine this old? The last time had a repair had to wait one month for someone familar with machine. Or should we pay for repair occationally and or get another machine at a later date? What is a machine like this worth? it doesn't have the useful networking computer option (which from what I understand is not available anymore. is this true?)

I have a canon imagerunner 210s recently bought already used. It was working ok but now copies are comming white, it does not print anything. could you please tell me what to change either toner or drum...

With the IR-200 one of the main problem is that the transfer roller falls out of place. It's a weak link, you will find that the transfer roller has poped out of the transfer unit. It is located on the transport unit. You can get to it from the front door and release the main lever for removing paper jams... The part are most likely all there, but you will need to put it back togather.... Good Luck

Enter copies into the feeder (Canon 210S). It

This is one of the worest designed feeder from Canon. Have you had the feeder rebuilt recently? If not that will improve it greatly. I would also, go into the user settings and turn the fax exit to recurite late doc. As I said, it is a bear to take this feeder apart if you have not done it before... Good Luck

GRAY STRIPES ON COPIES FROM CANON IMAGERUNNER 210S

Have you replaced the drum unit resently? When you had the drum unit out did you see the lines on the drum it self? If so, you need a new drum... If you did not see lines on it the problem may be coming from the fixing film, most of the time if the film is bad you can rub the toner off the page... Good Luck...

Photo copy comes out like tire marks are on it

Power the unit down. Let it cool for at least an hour. Remove toner carts, using a soft cloth and q-tip clean toner surfaces. follow warning stickers on unit. Examine cart/drum rollers for wear and baked on toner. Reassemble and clean platen glass and scan bed area with water or non-alcohol cleaner and soft cloth.

Canon IR 210S "Close the Lower Right Door" warning

Yes there is a sensor that most likely got knocked out of place. What you can do is to turn the copier off and disconnect the bottom 2 trays from the main body of the copier and turn it back on and just use the top 2 trays. You can change the trays lay out to what ever size you want, but make sure you change the BLUE DIAL to the correct size you want to use. I belive the sensor is toward the front of the copier right by the edge of the door, it may be knocked out of place or the flag on the door is broken off or one of the door pins are broken and the door is not closing correctly.... Good Luck..

Printing on Imagerunner 210s

depends on which additional function you are trying to do.
You have it as a copier only right now, you can add
duplexer for two sided copies
network for your computer to fax and print and scan
document feeder to put copies on top and feed automatically

There are a lot of options you need to decide which function you are willing to pay for.

Good luck
