Question about Amana NED7200TW Electric Dryer

1 Answer

On a NED7200TW Electric Dryer the dryer does tumble and heat. Exhaust path is clean and clear. The dryness selector is functioning but the led has gone out on it. So if you have "low dry" selected (not sure the exact words used) it leaves the laundry damp. Dryness of the laundry increases as you press the selector switch. Where can I get a led that can be soldered in place of the old one or would I have to buy a new board just to fix that light?

It is part of the board the only way to get the light is to find an appliance bone yard and try to find one

SOURCE: dryer is not heating up to dry clothes

The spark ignitor maybe at fault. Listen for the clicking noise upon starting it up the first 30 seconds it runs. If not heard it is in need of a replacement

Amana NED7200TW dryer. Has heat, tumbles, clothes don't dry. Vents have been gone through and cleaned. This happens in the sensor dry and time dry modes. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Just a question. Does your blower work. If your blower does not work it won't dry. Check blower belt. Mine broke and had no air blowing. Just a thought.

The drum stopped spinning when it was drying a load of towels and will not start again.

I had the exact same thing happen. I was drying a heavy load of towels and jeans and it just quit. No tumbling, no heat, no air.

I took my dryer apart and found that there's a thermo switch on the duct between the fan and exhaust. When open, this cuts power to the motor (which I think also cuts power to the heater).

This is the part: http://www.appliancepartspros.com/part_details.aspx?part_id=4045367

I made a temporary jumper past this and it started. So, I have a new switch on order.

Dryer runs about 20 minutes on its cycle and cuts out. It will not turn back on without a 20 or so minute rest. I have checked the lint filter as well as the exhaust and they are both clear. Anyone have...

Check the exhaust path, where the lint trap goes. If there is lint in the path, it will retain heat that will shut the unit off. You can't just look and see, you will have to dismantle the path from dryer to final exhaust port to make sure it is all clear.

SLOW TO DRY

HI, i recommend making sure that this dryer has a clear exhaust duct and hose. place your hand on the outside exhaust hose and check for a good flow. if the flow is low, you will have some sort of clog in the exhaust system and you will need to clear this blockage. if the exhaust duct and hose is clear of debris, you will the need to check the lint screen for debris as well. make sure you Clean this regularly after every cycle.

I also recommend checking the dryness sensor as well.
